That Reid and the Senate hold no constitutional powers to not allow Roland Burris seating is true, but that Reid lacked the fortitude to be firm yet not corner himself with making hyperbolic statements is also true.

The Democratic leadership are not fit to be leaders. Conviction, fortitude, a steadfast direction: all these leadership qualities are lacking from the Senate and House leaders. A strong Senate leader would never had made the statement Reid made, instead stating that he or she believes in Illinois state government's and resident's ability to secure their state interests in regards to the Senate appointment matter.

What did Reid do? He put his finger in the air and followed where the current tide led him.

How many times is this now? Words cannot describe my distain for Reid, and Nancy ain’t to far behind. The very first thing these nit wits did we they got in power was to start grandstanding themselves into corners only having to eat a truck load of ass and crow, at our expense, to get out. The dems could not wait to start making fools of themselves after the midterm election. In fact they could not even wait until they got into power before inserting foot in mouth. That moron Wrangle went off half cocked about reinstating the draft in what can only be described as feeble attempt to a make a philosophical argument over social justice. If they wanted to stop the war, all they had to do was tell the republicans to reach in their pockets (base) and pay for it. End of story. What hasn’t that spineless weasel Reid not backed down from? He let the republicans have everything they wanted since Daschle left, not that Daschle did a great job either.  But really, anything Bush wanted Reid has delivered wearing kneepads and a bib. He makes me sick.
