The corporate bosses want the newspapers to sell more papers to advertise their products more. How much free publicity did the NYT get over this flap? A Lot, and the more papers the sell, ostensibly the more products they advertise in the paper they sell...

Media is controlled by who funds it...BIG BUSINESS!!! Is it that difficult to understand?

Thanks

Which did they do in order to boost sales/ad revenue: sit on the story or break it?

SAM: What's new, Normie?
NORM: Terrorists, Sam. They've taken over my stomach and they're demanding beer.

now of course there is a certain amount of discretion that is used at any editorial board, but the overlying message/goal is the same...Make Money for our advertisers...

I think they couldn't have timed it any better... McCain is just that close to winning, and Obamas momentum story is quite frankly getting a bit tired... If the NYT and its supporters and friends wanted to stir things up, they couldn't have picked a better time to infuse the story into the election news...Plus the NYT editors are so pro Clinton that this can do nothing but help her distract from the Messiah story...

Now do I think they should have done that? No, but people talk about how political it is, and i keep thinking to myself "Well DUH!". It amazes me how naive some bloggers are to how biased and unscrupulous the media is...I cant believe anyone still thinks that the news is what actually happens in the real world...

thanks
