I don't want to pick on you, Spinny, but I can't let this big a lapse in logic pass by.

It's coming up on the :30 hard break, Jayar or Dave cues up the outro and the first 4-10 seconds of "Spooky" by The Classics IV play, then he pots down to mark the end of the segment, then plays "Cop Killer" during the break.

They have to pay (....yeah....right!...SShhhhh!) the royalty for "Cop Killer," right? 

Now, it's coming up on the :30 hard break, Jayar or Dave cues up the outro and the first 4-10 seconds of "Spooky" by The Classics IV play, then he pots down to mark the end of the segment, then turns the sound back up to continue playing "Spooky" all the way through.

So the royalty goes for "Spooky" instead of "Cop Killer." 

No hidden extra charges, no extra fees. Logic satisfied.

I'm not "hip" to all the ins and outs (none / 0)
I just know what gets said in podcasting circles about Fair Use and what you can and can't get away with.  Far be it from me to lecture on the subject to an industry insider. ;-)
