You of all people should understand that the "media" (your show included) is ultimatley first and foremost a business...

The idea of business is to make profit...

In order to make profit, you must sell or persuade people with money to buy things...

Racism sells in America because most people in America still have many racist tendencies and attitudes. To deny this is silly and unwise...

Its not like Americans have Klan suits hanging in their closets, or we still use seperate facilities - but as a whole, Americans are still not comfortable with other ethnicities and such. We can say we aren't, but saying its so doesn't make it so...

Ive addressed this issue earlier to the shegrin (sp) of many of the bloggers here, but Liberals (especially the Obamabots) have this idea that we can just "look past the American people and their flaws and raise the rhetoric level above such pettiness..."

The media cannot sell "being above the fray" to the common man. They cannot make profit with their advertisers by having intellectual debates on what is appropriate or not... They sell things by showing shiny flashy things and by fear...

The Bush people have made selling fear into an art-form...the Republicans are very good at this, and have gotten everything they want because of it...

Am I saying its right? Of course not, but until the media is not a business, we cannot stop it. This is Free Market Capatalism at its core...

Until that is stopped, until we stop supporting the machine that keeps putting all this stuff out, we will be powerless to stop it from continuing...

Hagee, Parsley and and the Priest/Molestor dont sell as well on the media because everyone knows they are just pigs and the story is old... No one buys time for them because they only represent a fringe of America, and most importantly...

They're not a black guy associated with the black presidential candidate that hates America and hates Whitey...

Even if it isnt true, this is the point that sells, and the media is gonna milk it for every dime (especially in this wonderful economy!)

Is it Racist? Yes. Will It Stop? No.
