But Obama has a habit of campaigning in every state regardless of whether he is going to "win" or not. This is because he recognized early that it is the delegate tally that counts, not the number of states (although he's won that tally in a landslide). So how do you draw the conclusion that he's "given up" PA? That's a Hillary/Giuliani strategy. I fully expect Obama to campaign in PA as though he hopes to win there, even if he doesn't have a chance. As a former admirer of Hillary, I'm a little sad that she lacked the judgement and foresight to campaign for everybody's vote. Instead, she has campaigned on ad hominem and innuendo, and has even campaigned against Obama's voters, calling them "latte sipping liberals" and "elites", "zombies". Hello? she's smearing the very people she needs to vote for her in November. All of this points to the unfortunate truth, that contrary to her message that she is "tested", she has very little experience running competitively for elective office. Her performance in the primary has really damaged her reputation as an "electable" candidate. Bill Clinton ran much smarter campaigns, and I wonder how come he hasn't given her better advice.
I didn't appreciate that you do. If what you say is true, that's unfortunate. But consider also that there's what, 9 contests left? While Hillary is putting all her eggs in one or two baskets, probably PA and NC, Barack has recognized that even though he has an insurmountable lead, he's campaigning hard in every remaining primary, because they're all important. He just swung by here in OR on friday. We've never seen a national primary candidate here. We probably won't ever see Hillary.
Its definitely uncharacteristic of his campaign to concede anything, or even to concede the initiative. Are you undecided?
