A "spoiler alert" would have been nice for someone like me who doesn't have cable and watches the show on DVD.  Thanks for ruining all the suspense.

That said, Homicide is a show of comparable quality to The Wire, but The West Wing...?  It always seemed so heavy handed to me.  I agree with the shows politics and everything, but there's something to be said for subtlety sometimes.  But I only caught it off and on, so what do I know.

I didn't mean to spoil Omar's story for you.  It was three weeks ago, and I thought that was enough.

But as for the overall ending, I gave nothing away.  The ending was set in stone from the first episode, and it's not a surprise.  But it is fascinating, like the point of view you have when that bus is twenty feet from killing you and it's moving to fast to evade.  You must watch even though you know what's going to happen.  And when it does, and you look back at your death just before you pass through those pearly gates, all you can say is "wow".

It's alright.  I'll definitely be watching it anyway.  You know, they were going to kill Omar in the first season, but they ended up liking his character too much to let him go.

is someone tainting or ruining a show or movie I haven't watched.

Unless someone says "yeah, kinda like when Darth Vader turned out to be Luke's dad", I want to see a Spoiler Alert!

And no, I haven't seen The Wire.

But it's been three episodes since Omar was killed.  I'll be more careful and provide warnings, but I'm not going to avoid talking about it forever just because some folks are behind the times.

Oh, and Santa Clause isn't real, either.  And that money you found under your pillow from the Tooth Fairy?  Your parents put it there.

I would point out that a LOT of people are "behind the times" nowadays.  That's because we have DVR's (with tons of stuff that's weeks or months old) and DVD collections that allow us to watch shows years after we didn't watch them live on the air.

So to be fair, it's not the same ballgame any more.

PS---The Shield is a great show. I was skeptical, but it's awesome.

*** SPOILER ALERT ***
Don't read this if you haven't seen The Shield up to at least the 4th season.

I started out watching The Shield.  There's no doubt that it has high production values and great characters.  But I just hate stories where a truly evil character gets away with his crimes season after season after season.

That's why I'm more upset with Congressional Democrats than I am with Bush.  He can't help being a criminal.  It's in his nature.  But Congressional Democrats should know better than to let him get away with it.
