Soup sucks.  It never makes me feel like I've eaten anything.

again. It only sounds appetizing when I'm sick and can't eat anything.

One exception: Vietnamese Pho. that shit sticks to your ribs and it tastes fuckin delicious.

I know Spencer is in CO, but do most people who dislike soup live in warmer climates?

If not, you're just crazy.  A good minnestrone, or chedder, potato and bacon soup with some fresh baked bread to dip?  Come on, it's fuckin' delicious.

Its not that I can't eat them, its just that, like Spencer said, I don't feel like I've eaten anything substantial. Many people, including my wife, find a nice bowl of soup perfectly acceptable for dinner.  Not me. Even you admit you have to eat it with bread.

It just goes from "good" to "fuckin' delicious" with bread.

You're telling me you can eat a bowl of potato, bacon and cheddar soup and not feel as though you've eaten anything?

Besides, it's not like soup is the main course, it's generally an appetizer.  I don't sit down and eat a meal comprised of mozzarella sticks, but they sure do taste good as an appetizer.

"Besides, it's not like soup is the main course, it's generally an appetizer."

"It just goes from 'good' to 'fuckin' delicious' with bread."--but its still not a meal.

I think you're vigorously agreeing with me.

The worst is Chinese/Thai places that deliver you fried/breaded chicken dishes with the meat soaking up the sauce.

I HATE that.

A *good* restaurant will give you a separate container to ensure the chicken stays nice and cripsy, not gross and soggy.

That would be a felony in Berkeley.

I lived in Berkeley for a long time, right near the Cal Bears stadium and Greek theater actually.
