Torturers are not witches. They are real. Whether it is because he is afraid of retaliation by prosecution or afraid of losing the next election, Obama's failure to prosecute torturers makes him akin to a torturer and insures torture will continue in the future. Is there anything lower than a torturer? Is this what our troops fight to preserve? I once asked my father, who was a life-long Republican who fought in Europe in World War 2, if, in 1946, he could have imagined that one day a topic of national debate would be the use of torture. He said no. America used to at least stand for morality. Because of Cheney, Bush, and Obama its government cannot even claim to aspire to high principles anymore.
