My two cents on McCain's war record is
1. He showed bravery in surviving 5 years of captivity
2. This obviously does not give him any practical experience to be president. It does show certain human characteristics, which are not particularly important, that a president should possess
3. If he did discuss military intelligence with the Viet Cong, it was understandable, in the position he was in
