Repost of Letter
(

Hey, don't mean to be too pesky, I am part Cricket y'know, but I don't just shoo, cause I'm also mighty, hence the name.
I would just like to repost a letter I mailed to Mr Uygur, so that people will know where I am coming from on this. I think there will be more reads here than on an original post, so if criticisms your game, lets have at it.;
Hello, this is a message for Cenk Urgar and the staff of TYT;
First of all I am a fan of this show. Recently I have been following it about daily on
Youtube
. I heard Cenk talk about an opening on
MSNBC
. I posted several comments on the thread with the name: Cricketmite. My feeling on this is that Cenk should not get his hopes up, but he should try because he deserves it and is a good reporter/commentator.
According to Cenk,
Rachel Maddow
is the only Progressive host on television. I think Maddow got her show partly because she is friends with
Keith Olberman
, and because she is a Genius Lesbian Goddess. Cenk is only a mortal on youtube. (joke)
But I digress, seriously, I think Donahue should get this postion. Donahue has name recognition, and is super-likable. Donahue worked for MSNBC for about a year, and he was fired because of his anti-war stance. There was a leaked internal memo from MSNBC where they revealt that this was the reason, not ratings because his ratings were high. He competed directly with
Bill O'Reilly
. Donahue has debated with O'Reilly. At the time of his firing the media trend was in favor of war. They needed to compete with flag waving FOX, they said. About a year after this they hired Olberman and he has been very successful. Maddow then followed suit.
I tried to write an online petition to MSNBC to persuade them. The time I wrote it was around the toppling of Saddam's statue, and the
Mission Accomplished
banner. Of course it made no difference. One petition on a website, getting a few hundred virtual signatures over the course of a year. I didn't have the wherewithal, knowhow, or influence to reach them. I don't know how to make a website, or once making it, how to get people to go there. The title of the petition was something like: Let's Nominate Phil Donahue for National
Talk Show Host
. That was a very long time ago, and this is no longer a relevant issue, or is it? Since then I wondered if there would be an opening at MSNBC for a time slot, at a time when the nation trend is toward the Democrats.
That is why I am writing this letter. I have no sphere of influence to effect this change. I think you should try for the job. I think you should also back Donahue for the job,in order to change what we can see on our televisions. I think that Donahue is not too old for this job. Old people watch TV too. I think he would take the job and be good at it.
thank you and keep up the good reporting,
Sincerely,

So Here's The Plan!
(

I just saw Cenk talking to R. Maddow in an interview about bloggers or something. This means Maddow still has roots in upstarts and she'll listen. Cenk relays my message about Phil. Then Maddow has Olberman's ear, the two big ratings people on MSNBC on board, and it's Gold.
On top of this there could be an online petition. This can actually be free of cost, but when posted on a free site, it would be lost in the shuffel of hundreds of petitions. So there would need be other sites linking to it, and maybe a blog or site concerning it.
Then if Cenk could also mention my name, Cricketmite, when he contacts Rachel, and ask if She is the kind of urban intelligencia who is in favor of a menag e' trois, or if she is in need of a butler and/or assistant, as I am currently unemployed and also single.
Then we would be Solid.
