Bobo1 is not wrong in that diary. Palin rejuvenated McCain's campaign. It was McCain who caused the implosion by suspending his campaign and supporting a bailout that was overwhelmingly opposed by the Republican base.

Who would have helped McCain more? Would he have done better if he had chosen a boring blob like Tim Pawlenty? If Palin brought a landslide defeat, then name one person who would have at least narrowed the margin, if not outright won the election.

...McCain had actually come close in the election. It was a blow out mainly because McCain did choose Palin whose lack of expertise in economic matters became known very quickly. If the Presidential election was only to get the evangelical vote, then bobo1 might have been right. Luckily for us it wasn't.

Teleprompter Jesus' lack of expertise in economics didn't show whenever he answered questions about economy. His failure to appear stupid has followed him throughout his carreer, even two years of constant scrutiny by the press. His run of incompetence to prove right-wing talk show hosts and internet posters like yourself to be smarter than they sound is unparalleled. Its a wonder anyone voted for him.

His lack of economic knowledge showed through often. Most American voters are also ignorant of economics and were therefore unable to detect Teleprompter Jesus' weakness.

His failure to appear stupid has followed him throughout his carreer, even two years of constant scrutiny by the press.

Two years of softball questions and celebrity worship are hardly ideal preparation for facing reality's hardball tactics. We shall soon see just how competent Teleprompter Jesus is.

John P.O.W. Maverick spent so much time reaching across the aisle he was an honorary Democrat, at least until he crossed paths with the media's candidate, Teleprompter Jesus. The election came down to choosing either a socialist president with a moron vice president or a socialist president with a vice president who looks good in a skirt. The American people chose the socialist and the moron by a small margin. We'll see how that works out over the next four years.
