Having the white house directly attack Glen Beck empowers him.  It should have been done by a political action committee and he should have been sued in court for libel and defamation.

Now Glen Beck as risen to the level of the President.  It will only increase the number of listeners and the shrillness of everything he does.  Next Pres Obama will be doing a talk show.

Don't waste your vote, vote Green or Independent in the next election.

LOL@ the idea of Obama doing a talk show.

He's good at reading a prepared speech. But he's no orator like Ron Reagan was, or JFK.

OTOH, he's certainly a far better speaker than Gerald Ford, and he hasn't fallen down any stairs lately :)

I'd rate Obama's oratorical skills at roughly the LBJ-equivalent level. Before you object, go back and watch Johnson's Great Society speech; I'm sure it's available at YouTube.

Reagan read prepared speeches too. In fact, given his age, I'd be surprised if he said a single word unscripted. Every president reads prepared speeches.

Granted, Beck is within his rights but O'Donnell didn't go anywhere near as far as Beck does every night.

The thing is: Beck and Limbaugh are the voices of the real opposition. There is no single Republican politician who has nearly the forum and demagoguing skills those guys have. So it would only be natural that the President goes for the big shots of his opponents. It may increase the number of listeners, and that may help the fringe in the short-term. In the long-run OTOH Beck and Limbaugh either suck their listeners into the loonie bin or drive them away (ideologically) with their far-fetched, insane rants.
