...were invented to protect people.  While the loud woman might be only a nuisance, she's still causing problems for her neighbors.  The excuse that she can't control her behavior just doesn't hold water.  Is she or is she not a responsible adult?

The landlord might be able to mitigage the situation by providing better insulation in the walls, but people have to sleep.  Screams from neighbors, no matter the cause, deserve the attention from the community that they get.

She should be banned, though I hate the way this issue is framed. Ana got it all wrong, its not about government intervention and telling her how to live her life, that sounds like some lame conservative argument, the fact is is that she is a noise problem. When you play loud music or loud electric guitar late at night everyone understands that thats definitely an issue with noise control, not "OMFG Government is coming to take my freedoms!", and whats up with Ana constantly repeating government controlling the way she has sex? Thats such a strawman, no one gives a fuck about how she does it in bed except for maybe cenk, its just the simple fact that you're making too much noise for the majority of people who go to sleep at that time, asking this woman to tone it down is as "freedom limiting" as it is to ask your neighbor not to bash his drumset at 2 in the morning. Or the simplest way is just to soundproof and insulate the bedroom walls so they can scream all night and it won't disturb anyone.

It does seem that this poll should simply be "should the government fine people for being loud?"  Because does it really matter why they are loud?  It may, if the neighbor has a loud mentally disabled child, or the neighbor is consistently in enormous pain. But if a judge is weighing between being loud during sex or having your sleep disturbed for two hours every night, i think the judge would land on the side of the sleep-deprived.

This is a no brainer. The govt can't control the sex lives of their people, however, If I play music at 47dbs late at night for a long period of time for many nights or any nights, thats going to piss a lot of people off.  The issue isn't that they are having sex, its how much noise are they making.  It doesn't matter if its sex music, or chanting or construction, if its loud, disruptive, prolonged and for many nights or every night then the govt can say you are disturbing the peace/breaking the noise ordinance and then take action like they would for me if I was playing my music too loud, too late and everynight.
