The title to my post that you took such issue with is a line from the song in the flick. I suppose if you'd actually taken the 6 minutes to watch the video you'd know that...

While I'm not surprised that the resident conservative hack for this site responded with inflammatory flames I do wish he would at least pretend to educate himself on these issues before making assinine commentary.

I won't waste time arguing with you. It is impossible to change the mind of someone who believes that investing in NASA is a waste, while investing in oil driven wars is a noble and worthy cause.

I will however agree with you on this point: thus far money spent on climate change hasn't done much good. This is because the mainstream media (and the Young Turks) refuse for whatever reason to give the necessary airtime and attention to the consequences (future and current) of environmental destruction.

My hope is that the media will finally wake up and put the fallout from deforestation, habitat destruction, and pollution (not to mention the fallout of war) front and center in their broadcasts. Make it impossible for the "successful" to turn a blind eye to the true cost of greed and consumption.

Is terrorism the only threat facing our generation? There are many individuals and NGOs who believe the destruction of the global ecosystem is the real threat to our future. My prayer is that these people will come together and stage protests on a global scale every WEEK until we see change. This is how women got rights. This is how African Americans got rights. This is how the environment will get rights.

On that note, there is a global day of action December 5th where people in countries around the world will stand up and demand strong environmental legislation. I urge anyone who believes in this cause to seek information about the protest in your area and participate. Nothing will keep me away from the protest in Taipei, Taiwan on December 5th.
