The most annoying Christians are ones who tell you how to live your life, but we have no evidence that he was that sort of Christian. Technically a true Christian should think of themselves as worthless and should be the last to judge anyone else(if they read the bible). Unfortunately most of the time we see the opposite where Christians tend to put themselves above others and preach as if they are better. But until you know what type of Christian he was you can't start calling him a hypocrite.
