One of the Turks (I think it was Ben) put it this way, to paraphrase:

We live in a world where O.J. Simpson can commit homicide and not only get away with it but also write a book about how he did it. For 9/11 to have been a completely inside job would necessitate a WHOLE LOT of people better at keeping a secret than O.J. Simpson is. Where are you going to find all those people, let alone get them on board? It's not feasible.

Find a happy medium between "it was all al Qaeda" and "it was all Washington." 9/11 doesn't have to be a complete inside job to satisfy our natural hunger for intrigue. Maybe al Qaeda was planning the hit all along, and Washington, finding convenience in that, took steps to slow our defensive response. The truth, as Grandpa Simpson (no relation to O.J.) once said, most likely "lies somewhere in between."

BTW, using bold type through your entire post doesn't necessarily make your statements "bold."

"And while we're on the subject, can you please explain why the hotel that burned so spectacularly in Beijing the other night didn't fall down like the twin towers? Huh?"

I'm sure the self proclaimed engineer will have his own ideas on the subject but I thought I'd toss in a few of my own as well.

Was the hotel in China anywhere near the size or weight of the WTC? Did fireworks burning on the outside of it cause nearly as much damage to the internal framework as tons of burning aviation fuel plunged deep into the heart of the WTC? Did those tons of aviation fuel make a bigger fire than fireworks on the exterior of the Chinese building? Was the WTC constructed differently than the Chinese building? Did the Chinese building also get the benefit of a few billion joules of kinetic energy shock (e.g. multi-ton jet airliner crashing into them)?

Otherwise they are exactly the same thing.
