I'm sure the self proclaimed engineer will have his own ideas on the subject but I thought I'd toss in a few of my own as well.

Was the hotel in China anywhere near the size or weight of the WTC? Did fireworks burning on the outside of it cause nearly as much damage to the internal framework as tons of burning aviation fuel plunged deep into the heart of the WTC? Did those tons of aviation fuel make a bigger fire than fireworks on the exterior of the Chinese building? Was the WTC constructed differently than the Chinese building? Did the Chinese building also get the benefit of a few billion joules of kinetic energy shock (e.g. multi-ton jet airliner crashing into them)?

Otherwise they are exactly the same thing.
