don't we pay loads and loads of money to have satelites spying on our own citizens?? here's a novel idea...why not aim the satellites at the area of pirate interception...the horn of africa area and maybe even the mallacas whilst at it.

perhaps the cargo ships could benefit from a heads-up, perhaps not. in the meantime couldn't the railing be electrified or something? get those taser guys working on something like that? maybe armour the wheel-house like a 'panic room' for the crew...protect them until help arrives.

last but not least don't most first world countries have navy's?? what about patrolling the coast of somalia then shadowing the pirates' motherships?? blow the little bastards out of the water when they launch their terrorists. don't we still have the bush-doctrine??

some libs are getting these criminals confused with robin hood. they are not a band of merrymen sharing their spoils equally with the poorest of the poor. two of the american ships attacked (maersk alabama, liberty sun) were actually taking food relief to mombasa. these men are desperados (age ceases to matter once a gun is picked up with hostile intent)

the above mentioned are just stop-gap measures until the UN can figure out what to do about somalia. the rest of the world has ignored this nati on's plight long enough.

"are getting these criminals confused with robin hood."

Really? I find that highly doubtful but then again I suppose you can find someone to espouse almost anything somewhere on the internet.

Pirates are criminals. No room for debate.
