I see what you are saying, and I understand that the conditions are similar, but what needs to be examined are the points that are being made, and the knowledge that a lot of people are beginning to feel very squeezed by what they are seeing around them...

They have seen the "Yo MTV Raps" generation take over the government. That scares them.

They are seeing states allowing Gay couples being married, shattering their concepts of what is right and what is wrong.

They are hearing rumblings of the "jack booted thugs" taking away one of our few remaining options to protect ourselves from the criminal elements in our country - guns.

They have already witnessed a president demolish many of our Constitutional rights, wire tapping our phones, detaining citizens without charges etc.. This hasplanted the seed of discontent...

Its time to stop blaming. Its time to correct the situation.

Many people believe Obama is the answer.

Many believe he isnt.

Where does that leave us?

Germany wasn't really a country that had been exposed to democracy for very logn before the Germans took power. While Beck and Bachmen seem to oppose Obama and want to take back the governemnt, aside from wanting to crack down on terrorists more, there is no evidence to suggest they want an authoritarian regime. There are times in history where we have been much closer to dictatorships than now.

Also we also have a pretty clear scapegoat, the wall street executives and the previous administrations and  not minorities such as jews.

Conservatives including you have tried to use Obama's  extreme popularity against him time and time again. If Obama is so popular that must mean not that many people have a problem with the Yo MTV raps generation in the white house . Its a non issue in mainstream America.

Obama has been in office for about 80 days? And already he has proven that he is going to step back from that edge my friend. He is restoring Americas place in the world and rolling back much of the damage that Bush did already.

We are in good shape  there is no way we will ever be another Nazi Germany. Extreme nationalism is the realm of the conservatives and they arent even close to being in power.

Obama is restoring pride in our country..thats a whole different thing.
