Germany wasn't really a country that had been exposed to democracy for very logn before the Germans took power. While Beck and Bachmen seem to oppose Obama and want to take back the governemnt, aside from wanting to crack down on terrorists more, there is no evidence to suggest they want an authoritarian regime. There are times in history where we have been much closer to dictatorships than now.

Also we also have a pretty clear scapegoat, the wall street executives and the previous administrations and  not minorities such as jews.
