For one thing, it's "satanism", and there happen to be two different kinds of "satanism", theistic satanism and atheistic satanism. Nuff about that.

Homosexuality isn't something you get talked into. If you think it is, chances are you're already a homosexual. People who aren't homosexual usually don't feel that the prospect of anal sex with a male is something potentially appealing.

As for your comment about the media, I agree that hundreds of death should be more important than the new child of celebrities. You know what the problem is? Free market capitalism in the media. When people pay more money to watch celebrity crap, the media will show it more. Solution? National, independant, state-funded tv channel with news programs focused on journalistic ethics and on bringing *important' information to people. Just like in many other countries.

As for the talk of religion. The same bible that says "thou shalt not kill" also says "be happy to dash the little one's heads against the rocks". Maybe we should spend more time on philosophy and less time on iron age cults. As far as I can tell, the Christianity that encourages the death of millions of Africans who die of AIDS is far, far worse than the satanism that makes people do funny dances in their basements.

At first I was like "WTF! does not compute", so I looked it up.  And sho'nuff there it is... (from Wikipedia)

LaVeyan Satanism

Main article: LaVeyan Satanism

Anton LaVey founded the Church of Satan in 1966 and his writings were the foundation of LaVeyan Satanism.

LaVeyan Satanism is a religion founded in 1966 by Anton Szandor LaVey. Its teachings are based on individualism, self-indulgence, and "eye for an eye" morality. Unlike Theistic Satanists, LaVeyan Satanists are atheists and agnostics who regard Satan as a symbol of man's inherent nature.[2] According to religioustolerance.org, LaVeyan Satanism is a "small religious group that is unrelated to any other faith, and whose members feel free to satisfy their urges responsibly, exhibit kindness to their friends, and attack their enemies".[3] Its beliefs were first detailed in The Satanic Bible and it is overseen by the Church of Satan.

Now do I have to clarify that I'm just plain atheist when asked so there's no confusion?

We are a way for the cosmos to know itself.
