isn't the case. She would have to be more of an idiot then we all thought to resign a major position to run for another. That looks really bad.
She sounded almost scared to me, like she what she was doing was not what she wanted to be doing but was being forced for some reason. This is why I think 3 is most likely.

(yeah, I'm setting myself up for sexual comments on this one)
"How sad that Washington and the media will never understand; it’s about country," she said in a message posted on her Facebook page. "And though it's honorable for countless others to leave their positions for a higher calling and without finishing a term, of course we know by now, for some reason a different standard applies for the decisions I make. But every American understands what it takes to make a decision because it’s right for all, including your family."
Palin said her administration had "accomplished more during this one term than most governors do in two."

huffington and a few others about Palin. I am starting to think it was an act for the camera (like "oh poor little me") and she may be dumb enough to think she has any chance in hell at POTUS.
Democrats and Independents don't liker her and there are some GOP that seem to really hate her. Unlike last time she is going to have to beat other Republicans that are not going to be nice like Biden was.
I could see the fact that many Republicans seem to be going independent/democrat to be a bonus for her. Only the loony right are sticking around so she could survive a primary.
It was when the citizens of her state started to turn on her, even though her approval rating is still over 50%, believe it or not, she told her fellow Alaskans to go fuck themselves. She reminds me of a spoiled brat who doesn't give a damn about anyone but herself.
She did, after all, try to turn down millions of dollars in stimulus money that would have helped lots of people in her state so that she could bolster her ratings with the far right fringe of her party.
