I only watched the full one rather than the clips so I can't comment on the difference in editing there. But it did seem like they made a point to go to a close-up of Stewart every time he looked down at the table. He looked sort of uncomfortable and submissive, and maybe that's just because he actually was and it's his own fault. But I wouldn't be surprised if they did the best they could to create and emphasize that impression.
It may have been a mistake to crack any jokes too, although it's probably reflexive for him. One would expect O'reilly's audience to be largely unresponsive, so most of the jokes seemed to fall flat even as I found myself laughing at many of them.
