Murtha to me has always been an interesting character in the House. A Red Democrat from a 50/50 district devastated by economic hardship and union treachery, Murtha has shifted in the wind many times during his lengthy political career. He is the ultimate flip-flopper simply due to the conditions and make up of his district.
He found power and spending projects he couldn't resist and literally changed from a once proud soldier to a pork spending slob. He was for the war before he was against it, he was for welform reorm before he went against it etc.
If this Democrat die off continues, its gonna be a Hell of a lot easier to take back Congress than even Obama is making it.
My condolences to Murtha's family, and my congratulations to the Republican who will assume his seat in Congress...
It's also interesting that you view death as being helpful.
Sometimes I do, too.
As to your evaluation of Murtha, thanks for finally expressing your opinion. But why didn't you say that when you opened this topic? It is, after all, your article.
