Nope, not much chance of that, although you can probably count on an increased level of frustration with ineptitude and corruption within the political system at large.  I've already largely accepted that real political solutions to the most important problems we face as a society are for all intents and purposes impossible within our current political system no matter who we elect.

Your sustainable outpost is probably a good idea for someone of your means.  Glad to hear it is coming along well.  Do you have a solar hot water system?  Any passive solar design in the structure?  Have you done any calculations of the true carrying capacity of your outpost?  I'm not convinced the "lone wolf" approach is the best for such a situation.  Small groups seem to be much more resilient than single individuals or small families when the SHTF.  If you're interested send me an IM or email, I might have some ideas on how you can improve it and possibly even profit a bit from your outpost.
