It's a pity some saw fit to allow your announcement to become a troll tickle fight. When will they learn.

Anyway, a chemical engineer working for a DOE lab on energy and environmental issues? – Could be just what this forum, and TYT itself, needs. Man does not live by politics alone.

Hope you don’t fritter away that free time on pointless mud wrestling with trolls, but rather inject some needed reality into some of the actual discussions.

Unlike most I don't find Ken or Bobo to be trolls.  While I rarely agree with them, we are generally able to have rational debates on topics.  I've been posting on and off for a good 5 or 6 years (from the "old" board before TYT switched websites), I just took a bit of a break from the board for a year or so because I had more important things going on in my life.  You can take a look at some of my old posts to see some of my previous discussions with Ken, Bobo, Tim, Fred, and others .

I know you were a regular poster and a valuable contributor. The rational debates to which you refer serve only to demonstrate what they are capable of if they so choose. The fact that most do consider them trolls speaks for itself, and I don’t need to elaborate on what the presence of trolls can do to a forum. Maybe they'll moderate their behavior with you around more, like class clowns when the teacher is in the room. We'll see.

Looking forward to seeing, in due course, your current views on various aspects of the energy situation, including the administration's "policies" and the effectiveness of Steven Chu (to the extent that you feel able to comment on the latter two, given your circumstances).
