The conservatives are happy to support black Americans, so long as their effots support one of their fundamental beliefs against abortion.

The Conservative party has never been on the side of minorities races in this country. They call them lazy good-for-nothings that only contribute to Americans losing jobs (Latinos) or the previously mentioned welfare queen. They make minority races out to be some great unAmerican evil.

Now with the introduction of this new ultraconservative education that they are proposing in Texas, where Thomas Jefferson is removed and the 2nd Amendment is a main focus, minorities in American history are being actively ignored. The article states :

Numerous attempts to add the names or references to important Hispanics throughout history also were denied, inducing one amendment that would specify that Tejanos died at the Alamo alongside Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie. Another amendment deleted a requirement that sociology students "explain how institutional racism is evident in American society."

Democrats did score a victory by deleting a portion of an amendment by Republican Don McLeroy suggesting that the civil rights movement led to "unrealistic expectations for equal outcomes."

I hope no one mistakes this situation. Blacks and minorites should not be trusting in the same conservatives who are responsible for so much of the hardships that plague them already. They should not allow the conservatives to have even more of an unwanted hand in their lives and the future of their families.
