The level of Christian support is closer to 35-40%.  Evangelicals, which make up a larger proportion of the Republican base almost unanimously support Israel.  While the Holocaust may have influenced the formation of Israel, barring Germany it has little or no influence in today's politics.  It's difficult for anyone beyond those impacted by that tragedy to get excited over it today, instead people are more interested in today's tragedies.

We should cutoff the aid to both sides.  Aid has the perversity of financing the killing on both sides.  The US is underwriting this conflict just as we are underwriting a half dozen conflicts around the world.  The US govt desires conflict to advance its domination of the middle east, central Asia and Latin America.

If we ended the conflicts in Afghanistan,  Iraq and Colombia we could cut the defense budget in half, instead we have a commission that Obama has formed that will tell us to cut grandma's social security instead.

The solution for Israelis and Palestinians is one state, one democracy just like the US.  Unfortunately Zionism demands that state must be Jewish, non-starter with the Palestinians for obvious reasons. Unfortunately a true stable democracy would be dangerous for the other dictatorial regimes in the region.  So, we have endless conflict with no possible resolution paid for with your tax/petro dollars.

Don't waste your vote, vote Green or Independent in the next election.

you're way too logical for this topic. The supporters are driven by emotion, logic doesn't have a prayer.

We can't quite Israel. It's the highest voltage third rail in politics. Just come near it and the arc would blind you.
