The fact that he was an elected official at a protest meeting speeking to a free press while criticizing the goverment diminishes his argument a bit.
However, Czechoslovakia in 1989 had something in common with the Bush Administration:
"Other common practices (of the Czeck goverment) included wire tapping, permanent watching of apartments, reading mail, warrentless house searches, surveillance, arrests and indictment for so-called "subversion of the republic". (ie..by Fox News)
So he was on to something, just a few years to late.
Didn't Obama just renew the Patriot act. Same song, new singer. Aren't we still in a stupid war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Do we have a public option? Is there transparency in the white house? Did the ban against gays serving in the military get lifted? Did the unions get card-check? Is deficit spending out of control? Is China still cleaning our clock economically?
Seems like the Bush days have just continued on. We need a velvet revolution, but one filled with independents, greens and socialists. Republicans and most Democrats, not invited.
Don't waste your vote, vote Green or Independent in the next election.
