Olbermann has been doing this shit for years and he's fine. Nothings going to happen.

MSNBC has decided that there was an loyal audience out there that likes to hear the truth. After the Donohue fiasco I doubt they want to go down that road again. Just remember they have been shuffling hosts for 3 or 4 years looking for something that works. I think they found it.

I generally like her show but she sucks on economies and is quite on the banks, along with Oberman. If you want to see someone who really brings it, check out Dylan Ratigan. Every time he misses a show, I am convinced he got fired.

I am a life-long Republican and I LOVE Rachel Maddow. She is brilliant. Does her homework and admits mistakes and does not seem to indicate that she is financially literate. I have an MBA - and I barely understand business. It is very hard stuff (especially now!!). I think you are being too hard on Rachel.

I am less concerned about her lack of understanding on most issues than I am about the lack of coverage on the bank sellout. It would be as simple as having Matt T or Joe Stiglitz on to explain it.

She is great at gotcha though, and the piece last night on Hatch was very good. I will take more of that.

The problem that both her and Keith have is that they have not come to terms with exactly how bad Obama is going to fuck us. Cenk pretty much nailed last night. As long as Emu, Larry the Lizard and Tinny Tim have jobs we are screwed.

Rachel Maddow Show: Matt Taibbi on Why Financial Institutions Should Be Broken Up

More or less a year of silence, other than some quotes from Paul K. That said, financial reform made the show last night with Michael Moore.

If you have been following Matt's pieces in Rolling Stone, you may notice that he went hard after Goldman Sachs and we did not see much of him after that.

That is the biggest problem with progressive media. We just let things go, whereas the right hammers the message all the time. I hate to say this, but financial reform may be more important that healthcare. We are never going to be able to afford healthcare until we get back the money being sucked out of the economy by wall street.

There are only a handfull of people out there that really have put this stuff in writing. Matt T, Nomi Prims and Black. Stiglitz comes close but really won't bring the hammer because he still lives in that world.

None of them have written about how they used mark to market and the bankruptcy reform bill. There have been a few that touched on it but not in depth.

Is that some sort of badge of honor or club? I just noted that she had Michael Moore on. I riff on Dylan all the time. Just because I called her and Keith out on the banks don't be offended.

As a matter of fact, I am watching her right now. It's not my fault you picked a year old video and I was able to call you on it becuase I have read most of his pieces. Hence my massive fustration with the lack of coverage of the fleecing we are getting.

I actually used to DVR her and Keith, but the shows have gotten stale and off point. Even the healthcare debate is off point, which is why it's such a disaster. I am holding out hope though.

I was actually going to list Dylan as one of the people who really knows the ins and outs but I was listing writers. He also has some holes in his game, and is a bit of a supply sider and free market guy.  But he calls it like he sees it. Him and Spitzer had a great show today on the Leehman Brothers report.  I have caught Cenk on there as well. I would like to see him get a little more time though.

My overall point on this that neither her or keith want to take obama to task. That video was from back when we were still holding out hope that Obama would be more like FDR than Clinton. It turns out he is going to be worse than Bush.

Sorry if I ruffled your feathers.

Exactly, which is why I actually dislike MAddow's show. It's unnecessary. It's Olbermann's show with a vag.
I guess some people prefer Olbermann with a vag.
I dunno. I go with Keith because a) he was there first and b) MAddow's unapologetic sucking off of military morons grates on my nerves.
