I don't think it was excessive force but I do believe it wasn't necessary force either. He didn't need to punch her in the face but she did have it coming. People talk about sexism and other stuff it exists for a reason. A man has no reason to hit a woman unless she puts his life in danger. We naturally are physically bigger and stronger so we have no reason to be hitting them unless absolutely necessary. This was not a case but I don't rule it excessive because he only punched her one time. Had he beat her down I would deeming it otherwise. And those who said she should have been tased are obviously speaking from emotion not rationale. Tasing has effects on a person's health and if they have a heart complication can potentially kill them. So please refrain from such ignorant banter.

In spite of the title of my post, (does anyone else hate having to post a title line for every post as much as I do?) I didn't really mean (or think) she SHOULD have been tased. But as I said in my post, I wouldn't have blamed the cop if he did.

Considering the bullshit things that others get tased for, I think he (rightly) showed restraint by not resorting to that. For that, kudos to him. For getting this started over a freakin' jaywalking ticket he, like the two women who physically fought with him over the ticket, is an idiot.

No one in this little paean to stupidity is blameless.
