Where was this guy yelling for the public option?

He's a coward and only stands up when it affects his district and wins him political points. Its political suicide to vote against 9/11 bills.  Of course they do not want to go on record as this and of course you want them too.  I'm more pissed at Democrats for not performing that crap on Republicans. 9/11 has been so politicized its merely a buzzword at this point.  You want to help our "heroes?"

Then support the unions, champion economic equality, laud the public programs that prop up our economy that are constantly villanized.  Praise wikileaks for performing a better service to the American people than most Congressmen.  Where is the healthcare for our teachers?  What about our nurses?  What about the crappy pay they give our social workers?  What about the pathetic state of retirement for millions of Americans who wind up eating cat food to survive?

This guy is a clown.  He looks like a d-bag.  Don't get your hopes up.

Your rant is justified, but who else is standing up.I also hate to burst your bubble, but I posted a blog about Weiner standing up and giving a speech about health care reform. So yea, you automatically lose credibility for your short-term memory on Mr. Weiner.

If the link doesn't work search on youtube because he definitely railed against the republicans and yelled for the public option.

Therefore fuck you. I will be over the top because you are, Weiner is one of the only truly courageous progressives in the house, even though we may disagree like stated above, Weiner does not play political points.

Your a fucking clown, because these few selected politicians are the ONLY ones who scream and yell for us when we can't. You rather have ZERO politicians like Weiner because he is not perfect. Well, I rather have him ANYDAY than any republican or conservative dem.

He does not scream and yell for us.  That is the point.  He screams and yells when it benefits him.  He stands down on REAL issues that REALLY affect Americans.  He will scream for healthcare to a thousand workers for his own district that will vote for him, but not for 300 million Americans? He even pledged to not vote for healthcare without a public option yet he did anyway.

What about the heroes we have in Iraq and Afghanistan that are there for utter lies.  When Obama sits there and hints at prolonging past the deadline, does he stand and yell? Hundreds of thousands of people have died for these conflicts.  NO, he does not yell.  No, he does not tell the others to stand down.

What about Elizabeth Warren, certainly a hero who has done much to help Americans?  When Dodd and others say "not her" for the position she created, does he stand up and yell at Obama and Dodd to stand aside and let her protect Americans? No, he doesn't.

This guy is as much of a progressive as Obama is.

"He even pledged to not vote for healthcare without a public option yet he did anyway."

I agreed with everything you said in that first paragraph until that line. Show me any kind of evidence to support that outrageous claim and maybe I'll consider it. But that is a wildly outrageous claim.

You are right in your 2nd and 3rd paragraphs,  but what are they going to do? Scream their lungs out for what? The system is broken, we all know that, how do you blame and accuse Weiner, Grayson, and the like for trying to speak out and stand up to the system.

Yes he caved, just like Kucinich. But both are the strongest progressives in our congress? If they are any better please point them out.

My main point is that I was mad you were picking on weiner when the hundreds of other democrats in the house sit on their ass and say nothing

"Where was this guy yelling for the public option?"

He was on every news channel he could get on, explaining the virtues of the public option, Medicare buy-in, single-payer, etc.  He went up against every conservative who had the balls to debate him, and shot down every bullshit counter-argument (death panels, government takeover, etc.)

I had never heard of Anthony Weiner before the healthcare debate, but the whole time that Congress was discussing healthcare, Weiner was EVERYWHERE, by far one of the strongest advocates for healthcare reform, along with Grayson and Kucinich.

I'm sorry if you don't like him.  He's a strong progressive on 99% of the issues, and he's a fighter, as seen in that video.

Except when it came down to it, he caved.  Like every other faux progressive.

 He does not fight.

He fully supported the public option.  He introduced a bill to extend medicare to all US citizens.

Don't waste your vote, vote Green or Independent in the next election.

He looks passionate and like he cares.  Plus,I don't think it was "acting".  I was glad to see it.

Also, if you want to get airtime you've got to make a scene... and he clearly achieved that.

Good on him...
