I was very surprised to hear that actor Sean Astin, of "Samwise Gamgee" fame in "Lord of the Rings" had endorsed Hillary Clinton. The Samewise I remember from the book, and from movie, I think, would have known better.

Surely the hobbit Samwise understood the evil inherent in "the Ring of Power", he saw what it did to his friend Frodo, and how to turned the young lad Smeagol into the pathetic monster Gollum. The deep and unstoppable DESIRE for power, embodied in the Ring, was unquenchable, and robbed them of their deeper principles in a quest for "Power at any price".

Afterall, this is what Obama's policy advisor Samantha Power really meant when she said (off the record) that Hillary was "a monster". What Power meant was that Hillary has TURNED INTO a monster. Hillary has morphed into a Gollum-like monster, her desire for power leads her to do anything, and say anything, and be anything, in order to gain "the Ring of Power". She will not allow anything stop her, not even if this means crushing the principles of the Democratic Party, and alienating tens of millions of young, progressive, and African-American voters, without wich the Democrats can not possibly hope to win against John McCain. How can you hope to defeat the forces against you when you also embrace their quest of power over principle?

Hillary says, "me WANTS IT, me MUST HAVE IT! it is MINE! ME PRECIOUS!" What was good about Hillary in her younger days has now morphed and turned into a monster.

Yes, Sean Astin should have learned from his character Samwise Gamgee. Samwise would have known better.
