Views, suggestions, ideas for Wolf-PAC, Occupy Wall Street

Two part question:  is OWS stupid for not focusing solely on campaign finance reform?

Second: has Wolf-PAC inspired you to join it?  Why or why not?  Is Wolf-PAC living up to its potential?

Execs Call For an End to Crony Capitalism

"Your silence will not save you." Anon

If there was ever a time to come out and come forward now is that time. Take the lead from these executives if you are a natural born follower. Just as the social programs are crumbling, so too is capitalism- it's like a murder suicide situation.

Group calls on companies to focus on long-term goals.

I've been reading a lot of articles lately on the demise of capitalism. It reminds me of the days leading to extreme weather when scientists were warning climate change would have a profound effect on our weather. Now we live in a time when extreme weather is the norm. Except when capitalism dies it will be even more violent and devastating.

Does God Exist?

Christopher Hitchens versus Frank Turek Debate: Does God Exist?

At 50:00 Hitchens mentions how terrible it is to believe that a creator can convict you of a thought crime and that it is abject slavery.

Then again at 1:01 he says "what a shame we are already born in prison and must earn our emancipation." How "great it is that there is no evidence at all what so ever that this ghastly entity exists."

Remember, theists have the burden of proof, atheists don't have to prove anything. I'm an atheist and this is an ode to Cristopher Hitchens, RIP-

Arne Duncan and Michael Shure

Michael Shure stated that he supports and approves of what Arne Duncan is doing to public education.  Well, for a true Progressive to approve of Arne Duncan is kind of like a black person approving of the KKK because he sells white sheets...............isn't it Michael?

Two Billion Paper Tigers

I posted this initially as a response to JPMorgan Chase's CEO Jamie Dimon's comments on the announcement of a 2 billion dollar loss in the derivative market.

I believe the great success of OWS is to present simple clear messages. Below is a basic and simple economic truth, yet it seems it's seldom at the forefront of thought. This is because people are led to believe that economics is so complex only those far above their station have any insight into it's mysteries.

Scammers love complexity and hide in it's Machiavellian labyrinths. When the public internalizes simple basic economic truths such as "We are the 99%" beneficial change is much more likely. The notion that much of our ills are due to paper constructs based on wishful thinking is one of those truths and needs be often repeated.

Ana's Scientific Assertions

Ana, to her credit, has commented numerous times about the irresponsible practice of putting sub-therapeutic doses of antibiotics in healthy farm animals food and water. This is done to promote growth and fend off possible infection which can flourish in crowded, filthy factory farm environments. Of course this indiscriminant use promotes antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria that infect animals and us too. Ana says though, that when we eat these animals, we are also eating the antibiotics that were given to the animals (she presumes the antibiotic winds up in the animals meat, which we then consume). So assumes the antibiotic can remain intact after digestion and that it can be found/measured in the animals meat. Is this possible? Are we ingesting a little dose of antibiotic too when we eat these animals? This practice is banned in most of Europe now. The FDA tried to ban it in '79, but big AG, big Pharma, and veterinarians and their repub friends allowed it.

How do I watch "episodes"?

Is there any way to watch full shows?  TYT, as well as 2012 (which I really enjoy), TYTU, and others.  I want to see episodes but find only 3-10 min. clips.  If some kind fan would explain to me the best way to see full episodes, I'd be very grateful.

Documentary "Owned and Operated"

The movie is called "Owned & Operated" and it's an attempt to show the world not just as it is, but also as it could be. Using materials collected from every corner of the internet, it tries to create a single narrative thread through the voices and images of hundreds of different people.

The idea is to wake people up, and get them thinking about things they may not yet have been thinking about. Because honestly, it's time to wake the f*** up.

Republics are naturally resistant to change.

Shit well that's that. uhhhh filler.......Name a famous artist from the Roman Republic. Name a famous architect. Musician? Ya. That's the stability of an empire for ya. Steal every thing your nation stands for from another world power then sit back and enjoy the money. sadly corruption soon becomes rampant and the republic can collapse under it's own inability to change. Republics rarely change. So help me god if Madona or Lady Gaga get remembered a thousand years from now I.......will be dead and not really give a shit. But I am pissed at the thought now. But since we are here now let's see if we can at least outlast Rome in terms of how long it takes to get fed up and hire an emperor. You know some one to hold acountable for the direction the nation takes. Instead of partisan bitching and money grabbing. Remember there is always three sides to a story. What one said, what the other said, and the truth.

Another Obama Zombie Sings Her Siren Song

On today's online presentation of The Young Turks, Prof. Tricia Rose of Brown University was Michael Shure's guest. The major topic today was, of course, Barack Obama's two-step about his "personal" endorsement of same-sex marriage. Shure, long an apologist for Obama, celebrated Obama's announcement. Steve Oh then raised the question of whether or not Obama would actually fight for equal rights for LGBTs, and Professor Rose responded with the usual refrain:

What if Romney becomes President?

This tiresome yet often-repeated song is the only thing keeping Obama in the White House. Despite the clear evidence that the lesser-evil politics practiced by Democrats is the reason that we get increasingly right-wing government, they keep coming back at us with that verse, and there's nothing you can do to stop it.

No matter how many times they get shot down, people like Professor Rose rise up to sing their song again, trying eat our brains.

How many times does Obama have to say it? [Updated]

Many times over the years, Obama has said that he believes that marriage is a "union between a man and a woman." Even his wife opposes same-sex marriage.

His position is not "evolving". While he might be forced to accept it, he doesn't want it. He certainly will not fight for it. He never actually fights for things that he says he believes in, and he doesn't believe in same-sex marriage. All that is "evolving" is the spin that his spokespeople are trying to put on what he says. At most, Obama does not oppose civil unions, but he does not support same-sex marriage.

It's time to get honest about this man. Not only does he not support equal rights for gays and lesbians, he wants to restrict the rights of everyone else as much as possible. With his signing of NDAA and HR 347, his apparent caving on closing the military prision at Guantanamo Bay, his refusal to prosecute torturers or the extremely rich people who caused our economic collapse, he has given us many reasons to remove the blinders from our eyes. Barack Obama is not a man who wants to expand our freedoms.
