Ford is desperate considering Corker is closing this race fast, and will win.

Burns has been surging in Montana and it appears that race will come down to turn out.

No actually it was chili down at the tailgait party today.  Down at the Tennessee vs. Alabama game  in Knoxville this afternoon.  I did notice alot more people wearing the orange Jr. stickers than the Black Vols for Corker stickers.  There was a mass of Students for Ford marching behind the band for the VOL Walk.  Ford has a D next to his name and that is what is important in this election to me.  I just want accountability in the white house and if getting the majority will do it then Ford has my vote.

by atomicanne on 10/21/2006 07:27:55 PM EST

I’m sure you do like Ford.

But his candidacy is dead in the water.

"I did notice alot more people wearing the orange Jr. stickers than the Black Vols for Corker stickers."

Now we have a report of overwhelming support for Harold Ford Jr at a UT Football game in Knoxville. I know the people of East Tennessee, and the people of UT (having earned a couple of degrees there), and I can tell you this report is ridiculous.

If you had described support for Harold Jr at Vanderbilt, or at Tiger High in Memphis, I would have believed it.

Here is video footage of the exchange.

I can't say if the move was bold or desperate, but the direction of the polls this week will predict the outcome.

Here is video footage of Harold Junior at a UT football game. He seems lonely and very much out-of-place, just as I expected.

Does he think that stupid baseball cap will make him fit in with the Vol faithful? Like he's gonna be welcome on Fraternity Row?

This guy is so goddam phoney that he makes me sick!

Corker is a volunteer because not only does he live in Tennessee but he's an Alumni from UT.

Ford graduated from D.C.

Ford also claims he's a lawyer even though he couldn’t pass the bar. That's like saying you graduated from college even though you failed your classes and never got a degree.

Corker is a self-made millionaire who didn’t inherit his money. Ford is a professional family politician who manipulates the public.

Ford little if no chance of winning this race.

If Bob Corker is a Vol he must have went to a different University than the one I graduated from in Knoxville.  Corker thinks the universe is only 10,000 years old and that cells in a dish are living beings.  Since he would have been there at the same time I was I question whether he ever attended any classes.  I never saw him on Campus.  I have met him and he doesn't seem to know much about the campus or the time period.  As for Ford being a Lawyer I am afraid you show your ignorance on the subject. A Lawyer is anyone who has graduated from Law School.  An Attorney is a person who practices law and passed the bar. As an Attorney who graduated from UT and the UT College of Law I know about these matters. I think the last poll I saw here in East Tenn showed Ford ahead by 2% points.

"I never saw him on Campus."

The campus has 40,000 students, and I am unaware that Corker went to law school, so you would never have seen him in the library.

He was on Fraternity Row, partying with me and my posse.

UTs current on campus enrollment is 23,000 give or take a few not 40,000.  At its peak during the Vietnam War UT had about 28,000 students on campus.  I also graduated from the UT College of Business Administration.  Surprisingly many of our classes were less than 30 students so it was not uncommon to know most of the students in your College that were in your same graduating class.  Perhaps he was at the Frat House drunk all the time.

Ford screwed the pooch! First by crashing Corker's presser. But the worst offense was pretending he is a Volunteer Football fan. Here is RCP's assessment of the race.

(October 24)
Corker has now moved out to a 2 point lead in the latest RCP Average, which is also where new Mason-Dixon and Rasmussen polls peg this race. Corker has picked up three points from the previous Mason-Dixon and four points from the prior Rasmussen. This race looks to have perhaps taken a permanent turn toward the GOP, and while Ford is certainly close enough to have a shot, Corker has the definite advantage with two weeks left.

Harold's from D.C. not Tennessee
Bush is from Kennebunkport not Texas

"Harold's family is trying to occupy every plotical spot in Tennessee"
This is different from the Bush family how?

"Has Harold ever had a job outside of politics in his ENTIRE life?"
Did Bush ever have a job not bought and paid for by “Daddy”?
Did the companies succeed while he held any of those jobs?

... neo-cons and theo-cons, who divert every argument with some reference to Clinton.

It's Corker v Ford in TN.  The only way Bush enters into it is the degree to which Corker, like every other Republican, has been a rubber stamp for the reckless, regressive, robber baron policies of Bush and the Right Wing.

He worked in construction all his life and then worked as a mayor of Chatanooga. Unlike Ford who is of D.C., Corker wants to go to D.C.

Corker as we all know here in Tn made all his money by being the Mayor of Chattanooga.  Its easy to make money in Construction as Mayor.  First you condemn all the downtown property and you and your friends buy it.  Then you get it rezoned and give the Redevelopment to your friends who in turn hire you to "Construct" a new development at taxpayer expense.  They love old Boy Bob in Chattanooga.

"Why is the Estate Tax (you call it the Death tax) so important? Because most Rich Men get their money from mom & dad."

This is one of the few issues where I agree with liberals. I have always been supportive of estate taxes. There is nothing I hate worse than rich, trust-fund-baby libera ls who inherited all of their money from their parents.

You rarely hear of self-made-millionai res who are liberal. Outside of Soros and the Berkshire Hathaway guy, they just don't exist.

The government can tax me all they want when I'm dead, because where I'm going they don't take American Express.

But kindly get your hands off of my wallet while I'm still alive. Thank you!

Now there’s a ringing endorsement of an ideology, completely false...but interesting none the less.

I sure you are an expert, being "affluent" as you described it in another post. Of course, you must love the Neoconservative Walton’s who want us to subsidize their inheritance by abolishing the “death tax

How does abolishment of a confiscatory government act constitute subsidization? The government isn't going to take money from my paycheck and give it to the Waltons if the estate tax is repealed.

on how you view taxation and how you define subsidy. The revenue from the estate tax will be lost and either will be made up by reducing a service or service(s) or raising taxes in another area. More likely it will become part of the general deficit and defered. Either way it will cost you more.On the other hand I suppose you could say the same thing about a tax cut of any kind. Anyway "subsidy" just sounds better ...

The Bush Economy has been very good to me. The DJIA is posting record highs of 12,100. Tax cuts have been significant. Business is firing on all twelve cylinders.

If you're not making money in this economy, you need to take a look in the mirror Mr Fred. The problem is not George Bush. It's you.

http://www.hendersonvillest arnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar ticle?AID=/20061024/NEWS020 6/610240356

The first Republican commercial to mention the party began airing Oct. 3 by the National Republican Senatorial Committee. It played off a Ford campaign commercial, filmed in Ford's Memphis church, by saying, "So what kind of man parties with Playboy playmates in lingerie, then films commercials from a church pew?"

The latest commercial to feature the Playboy party began running last Friday by the Republican National Committee. This ad takes shots at some of Ford's most liberal votes in Congress and includes a woman, presumably an actress, saying, "I met Harold at the Playboy party." •

Well unfortunate there's lots of mud slinging. Unfortunately for the dmes, Ford is the one covered in mud. I don't really feeel sorry for the dems after Nacny's destortions of the Foley campaign trying to bring down Hastert. She would constantly Hastert knew, but confuse the public as to what she was talking about emails or the instant messages.

Hastert has no mud left on him, and needs to stay speaker since he is one of the best the country has ever had.
