Rush is a great American fighting the good fight against terrorists, liberals, and commies.

as vile and repugnant as the theo-cons are, like lab rats there are some things even they won't do.  thats when they call in your hero rush.  the reality is that's he nothing more than a hired assassin for the far right.  he can say the unacceptable things they think and because he's not running for an office, he's got that old reagan teflon coating.

The thing is here, we are at war. This world is currently imperiled by a host of diseases, disorders, and disfunctions and the Right doesn't seem to understand that. In any other circumstance the Right rushes to the prospect of war declaration and subsequently rolls out the "defense" industry. However, in this case they ignore that many diseases exist that have claimed tens of thousands more American lives in the last couple decades than "terrorism" and yet are disregarded (heart disease for one). My bet is that its their pride that does this -- 'those brownskins came over here and had the nerve to disrupt our society, thats OUTRAGEOUS!'. Albeit viruses and bacteria are harder to see and even harder to blow up with tanks, so it doesn't feel like an affront to their pride, but I digress.

The thing is we need to fight the biggest war not the war of oil/pride/halliburton; we need to fight the war against that enemy that proceeds to kill more people than anything else. And that enemy is disease, therefore lets have a draft and get to the front lines. And this draft doesn't have to even have to endanger human life (although removing embryos has produces victims), its the lackadaisical avoidance of this war that endangers us. If we "drafted" human embryos to fight for us in the arena of stem cell research then we might find some of these cures. And before you object, I'm not disregarding the "life" inherent in those embryos, they may "die", but how many real live people will they save. This may be callous but in my world: potential for life < life. How many American (not to mention innocent foreign) lives have been destroyed by these wars -- yes all wars kill innocents and even a war on disease. But, to the Right these lives are expendable. But, to me these are LIVES, not POTENTIALS. Lets sacrifice the potentials for the Present and Future protection of Life. Doesn't that sounds like a Pro-Life agenda?
