Voting Machine Problems in Georgetown KY (Scott Co.)

Since the Governors office went (R) for the 1st time in 32 years. We have new voting machines. Called E-slate

It looks like a PDA. The election clerk gives you an access code so your correct ballot will appear.

Any way the machine wasn't counting the votes correctly. The County Clerk had to call the software techs in to fix the bug.

We had good voting machines called Shoop tronics. The ballot was laid out and a push button was by the name of the candidate you wanted to vote for. After you made your selections you pushed the green vote button at the bottom and a tone sounded signifying that your vote was cast. Simple

Next year with the Governors race & Presidential I worry about the new voting machines. We could vote on either one this year but next year it's e-slate or nothing!

Officials in Scott county finally released results after a major set-back.

At around 11:00 Tuesday night, election officals realized there was a problem with the voting machines.

Officials tell 27 NEWSFIRST the new and old voting machines weren't communicating.

Technicians were called in to try and fix the problem early Wednesday morning.

In races like the extremely tight mayor's race, every single vote counted.

Karen Tingle-Sames (R) won by less than 100 votes over incumbent Mayor Everette Varney (D).

A re-count is expected.
