Mexico's Calderon sneaks into office, is jeered

In the past few days, the conservative candidate for Mexico's presidency has preemptively declared himself president of this supposed democracy.  Filipe Calderon, in a strange and rushed private ceremony last night at the Presidential residence has seemingly taken over the Mexican government. The ceremony, performed with departing Mexican President Vincente Fox in attendance, is not the way that presidential authority is normally transferred in the country. The move is of questionable legality.

As reported by ABC News, authorities on the Mexican constitution are quite confused and disturbed by this move by Calderon:

.. experts on Mexico's constitution puzzled over whether Mexico had a president or not Friday morning. Presidents must be sworn in "before congress" ...

Why is that conservatives feel the need to seize power, even when there is clearly no mandate for them to do so, and when they need to resort to shady dealings and backroom ceremonies just to take over the strings of government? Perhaps it has something to do with the debts they owe to their corporate backers. If they fail to gain power due to an inconveniently close election, they will have no access to the huge flows of government money they need in order to pay off their own. . . er, i mean their backers.

It's good to see that members of the political ranks of a representative democracy are showing enough backbone in Mexico to actually physically stand for the rule of law and the legitimacy of an actual elected executive branch. As one supporter of Mr. Lopez Obrador, the opposition candidate, put it,

"It is going to be very rough for Calderon. Wherever he goes, we'll be there to remind him he became president through fraud."

Too bad our own Congresspersons and Senators don't have such devotion to our own Constitution.

The signing statement that King George put on the Patriot Act reauthorization act this past year should be enough for the members of the U.S. Congress to rise up in protest against him. He negotiated with the representatives of the people in Congress, granting some oversight of his government's use of the Patriot Act to Congress while trying to get Patriot Act renewal through Congress, and then in an illegal signing statement, he called those oversight laws 'unconstitutional' and declared that he would not allow them. That alone should have Congressmen screaming in the aisles of the House and Senators pounding at the gates of the White House. The fact that they are not is not civility, it is going along to get along, with a tyrant and his entire imperialist cabal.

There were many international observers all who said it was one of the cleanest elections in the world. This is confirms the poor loser-bottom feeder mentality of the left. They planned to block Calderon's entry to receive the recieve the presidential sash.- aka if they lose they are violent or they blame the machines.

Of course........in 06 the machines worked (because dems won.) Any election where dems lose, means the machines were rigged.

Protesters at Michigan State University set off a fire alarm and assaulted a student organizer at an event last night on illegal immigration that featured Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., who began his speech amid a mixture of boos and applause.
Kyle Bristow, chairman of Young Americans for Freedom, which sponsored the event with the school's College Republicans, said he was kicked and spat upon by demonstrators outside the College of Law lecture hall where Tancredo spoke, reported the State News, an independent campus newspaper.
Bristow called the protesters "racist."
"It's sad we need police to come to control these radical leftists," he said.
A video provided by Denver's Rocky Mountain News shows protesters in front of the lecture hall with a banner. One declares to the seated students, "We are very dissatisfied with Michigan State University ... we are a diverse community at Michigan State University, and we are all immigrants. ..."

So these "peaceful hippy" libs assaulted the leader of the college republicans and spit and kicked him. They then attacked the person who video'd it and destroyed his camera so they had no proof. The college republican’s girlfriend was told by a violent leftist that they would kill her. They keyed cars and slashed tires.

I saw the leader of the college republicans at Michigan State talking and he said that the group that stopped Tancredo from speaking and pulled the fire alarm, was from a group that supported the violent overthrow of the U.S. government in the southwest and Mexico's right to gain its land back.

So are the Obrador libs any different? Of course not. They lost so they wanted to try to attack Calderon so they had to do it low key.

Leftists, go figure! (Laughter) What did everyone else think of the leftists in the Mexican congress throwing tantrums at the taking of the presidential sash? And what's up with that airline food...(Laughter)

Oh those Libs , they are the whiniest losers.( rim shot)  If they can't win with a fair vote, they always resort to violence. How violent? ( Audience: How violent was it!)  In Oaxaca the Zapatistas have been rioting for months, and Mexico City is no worse.( chuckles) Today even the leftist politicians were trying to punch members of the center-right PAN party while congress was in session! (Applause) . Here in the US all we do is send suggestive text messages...Right Mark? ( rim shot) (Laughter)Lucky Cheney wasn't hunting nearby!( rim shot) (Laughter)(Applause).

Calderon looked magnificent ( winking)  in his speech who was obviously chuckling at the view of everyone fighting. I'm surprised John Kerry  isn't running a "shadow government" here( rim shot)   like Obrador thinks he is going to have. Leftists in Mexico have taken the spirit of the poor loser to even lower levels. Maybe its time for the Swift Burros....(Laughter)

Did you hear about the  "peaceful hippy" libs assaulted the leader of the college republicans and spit and kicked him? ( Audience : NO!) They then attacked the person who video'd it and destroyed his camera so they had no proof kinda like the Allen campaign..The college republican’s girlfriend was told by a violent leftist that they would kill her. They keyed cars and slashed tires. Well at least when we did it in Miami during the Gore-Bush recount we wore LL Bean Chinos!...( rim shot) (Laughter)(Applause).

I saw the leader of the college republicans at Michigan State...hold on... Michigan State what a loser school!( rim shot) (Laughter)(Applause)

The hippy was from a group that supported the violent overthrow of the U.S. government in the southwest and Mexico's right to gain its land back. That's horrible...come to think of it they can have Yuma(Laughter)and the Arizona Cardinals!( rim shot) (Laughter)(Applause).

Actually they were memebers of the greater Miami Real Estate Commision pissed of at his comments about Miami!  (Laughter) Its tough moving 5 million dollar mansions in a Third World Country!( rim shot)(Applause).
