Young Turks Will Answer All Questions Immediately Following the First Show

The Young Turks will be having a "public conference" immediately following the first show on our website. Instead of a press conference, where only the press is invited, we will take questions from everybody. Hence, our new made up word -- public conference.

The first ever public conference will also be done as a webconference as opposed to sitting in a room where only the press have access. We're big on "first evers" on The Young Turks.

Everyone is invited. We will take all questions. It doesn't mean we will have all the answers, but whatever we do know we will share with all of you.

The webstream conference will start right after our first Air America show on Monday morning. So it will be at 9AM ET on www.theyoungturks.com. Stay tuned to the site to watch and hear us take questions from the audience. Anyone will be able to call in as you normally would do to the show.

We will have more news on our status and on Air America during the regular radio show and take questions after the show. Hope to see you there.

ok im confused - so the turks will be live at 6-9am? eastern or pacific time? and what of the former 6-9pm eastern website? and when will real-time chat take place? sooooooooo many questions i hope answers will be forthcoming. i'll see what monday morning brings......

They will be live on the net and Air America from 3-6 a.m. PDT, 6-9a.m EDT. The chat room is open for live chat 24 hours - tell your friends to join there during a repeat if live is inconvenient.

As far as an "eastern" website, I have no idea what that refers to. This site is worldwide. They will be live the same time as the radio show.

The problem is there is no motivation for anyone to join anytime other than the show is on, because no one idles in the chatroom and occasionally glances back to see what's going on, because no one really knows how IRC works except for a select few people. So people only join during the live show and then just leave because they figure nothing's going to happen or they're "supposed to leave."

I broke down and bought an XM. I was going to wait and see how downloading the podcasts go but I just couldn't stand the thought of listening of not hearing the first show.

I already listen to about 20 podcasts and with my irregular wifi availability as I travel I would always be behind.

Never thought I would be a dual subscriber but here I am.

You've got a loooong way to go to be anywhere near as good as Rachel Maddow.

You're not as bad as Jerry Springer was though, and for that at least, I'm grateful.

It'd be nice if Jill Pike got a word in edgewise too.

Rachel Maddow is the one that obtained a degree in public policy from Stanford University in 1994. She then received a Rhodes Scholarship in 1995 and used it to obtain a doctorate in politics from Lincoln College, Oxford University and eats simple minded conservatives for lunch. Is that the same Dr. Maddow that you are refering to?

Yeah, I read her wikipedia bio, just like you did. But it never occurred to me to cut-and-paste her education credentials, as if that gives her some kind of credibility.

All I know is that her Air America show, Unfiltered, was cancelled. Then she was replaced by Jerry Springer. Then she was reading the news at 5:00 am, until she was replaced by the Young Turks. Now she is reading the news in the evening.

Sounds like downward mobility.

If you think that Rachel Maddow is only "reading the news" then you clearly are not listening to her show. After Unfiltered (where she was one of three hosts) she got her own 1 hour show at 5am, which then became a two hour show from 7am-9am, which now just moved to 6pm-8pm. This is downward mobility?
