The carbon footprint is relative to technology and INFLATION / GOLD standard vs. BS private banking per Federal Reserve Bank that is NOT FEDERAL!!!

BTW: The nuclear fuel cycle is NOT carbon neutral!!! The enrichment of atomic fuel requires OIL and waste storage is untenable. What, are you going to do? Shoot it to the MOON using more OIL dependant rocket propellant production? How much does one 3 MILE ISLAND, Chernobyl cost, not including the slow death caused by cancer and mutations triggered by trace fallout across the globe.

What you won't find doing cursory research, is the guy that used inverse APOLLO FUEL CELL technology to generate hydrogen and O2 from water to run a modified Mazda combustion engine that used H2O as fuel. (EXXON SILENCED HIM after he built a prototype and got his story aired on a local TV station ONCE. If you dig deep enough, you will find the video just as you will the McVey Oklahoma bombing secondary explosion reports, RFK's 8 shots, etc.)

On SKYLAB the byproduct from FUEL CELLS is water. Do recall the CO2 scrubbers from Hank's APOLLO 13???

Why?  At no point does oil have to enter into the process of enriching uranium.

There are several innovative ways of fixing the nuclear waste problem, including injecting it into tectonic subduction zones, thus putting the material back where it came from -- the Earth's mantle.

Nuclear power is a great stopgap while we develop the infrastructure required for a biodiesel/solar economy to take root.  Wind is somewhat worthless as it is unreliable and does a great job of killing birds.

In point of fact, liquid rocket fuel these days is nearly exclusively hydrazine (for RCS thrust), methane/methanol, or liquid H2.  SRBs like the STS's still use petrochemical-based fuels, but these are going away.

Not "all the alternatives" are more expensive or liable to wipe out our food supply.
