Ana's right--men are so easy (none / 0)

Men will not only buy us shoes, they will buy you lots of other things, no strings attached. Happened to me when I was her age, and also 20 years later.

I used to commute to work by train. Riding the train every day was a man with a shoe fetish. He must have bought shoes for more than a half dozen women on the train--more than one pair. He also noticed what shoes/sandals/boots we wore and gave compliments when he liked what he saw--boots, yes, yes, sandals, yes, yes, both with heels, yes, yes, with short skirts, yes, better.  

Does it have anything to do with looks? Maybe. I used to be a fashion model in New York, but not now. I can still walk into stores and have complete strangers buy things for me, without even asking them. Happens all the time. I love to haggle, too. The price isn't low enough until they start to cry, or give things away.

Now I feel awkward complimenting the shoes of a woman out of fear they might think I have a shoe fetish. 

Obviously I'm kidding but this shoe fetish is beyond me.  Eww - feet are gross, stinky and remind me of monkeys - I'm so not an animal!

Rush Limbaugh described a caller on his Sept 26 show, and I immediately thought of our friend zenie.

"She's probably a good-looking woman.  For her to spout that nonsense, unchecked and unchallenged for years, it means that quite a few guys have a good reason to put up with that bilge and garbage and not argue with her. They'll do anything to make her think she's profound to end up where they want to end up.  The words will go in one ear and out the other. They don't care what she says or thinks. I'm convinced, because this is how she gets away with believing all this stuff for all these years.  She probably goes to Cornell. She sounded young enough to be a college co-ed to me, and probably both men and women think that she's good-looking enough to let her think that she's profound.  Now, you might think this is sexism and it may well be in your mind, but it's not.  This is detective work at its best, studying human nature.  This woman believes things that are 180-degrees wrong.  Yet nobody has ever challenged her. She listens to an audio sound bite of Hillary Clinton and refuses to hear what Mrs. Clinton is saying.  Mrs. Clinton says (paraphrased), "Hey, if I'm president, I don't think I'll be able to pull out of Iraq right away.  We got a situation that's going to depend on a lot of things."  She doesn't want to hear that so she didn't hear it -- and who wants to get into an argument, if you're in college, with a pretty woman?  They say, "Okay, this is what she thinks. Let's go get some fries," or what have you.  So we try to explain the irrational, closed-mindedness of these people, and I think this is one of those explanations that it would be difficult for anyone to refute."

This is a skill set I need.  The only recent give away I can remember is on a train.  I asked the man in front of me if that was Madonna in the paper and he said yes and gave it to me.  I didn't ask for it, I then gave it to my sister-in-law because she is a Madonna freak.

A paypal link is one of the best ideas that  I think you've come with KenTx!  If you tell us how to set one up, I'll put on my page for pure comedy and science.  But if not, maybe I'll just send my old diry worn out sneakers to TYT Headquarters.  I kid you and in no way would I condone boxes of old stinky sneakers sent to TYT - that would so not be cool but sure would be funny as hell!
