"A Day Later, Clinton Embraces Spitzer's License Effort"

The New York Times has said that Clinton now supports Spitzer's push for driver's licenses for illegal aliens and terrorists.

Had Spitzer's plan been put into effect in 2000, we have been giving driver's licenses to some of the illegal aliens\terrorists that flew planes into the twin towers who had overstayed their VISAs and were in the country illegally in New York.

Spitzer and Clinton also want to shield the list of illegal aliens and terrorists in the New York drivers' license registry from the Federal government to prevent ICE from doing it's job and deporting people who are not supposed to be in the country. They'll have the list of illegals but will REFUSE to hand it over to authorities.

Instead they get a reward for overstaying- driver's
licenses!

I was thinking the Clinton could call it a "comprehensive driver's license."

Yes I know I'm brilliant. Don't tell the Democrats about my my new talking point or they might be able to sell Spitzer's plan.

Here's a pic of one of those "jobs that Americans won't do"

Clinton

Courtesy of the New York times...

"A day after she appeared to struggle to give her views on the subject, Hillary Rodham Clinton offered support today for Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s effort to award New York driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants, as her campaign sought to contain potentially damaging fallout from what her own supporters saw as a tense and listless debate performance.

Mrs. Clinton’s statement affirming her support of Mr. Spitzer in his office came less than a day after she offered a muddled and hesitant position on the bill, prompting a round of denunciations by her opponents. It signaled the extent to which her advisers viewed that moment as the biggest misstep she made in the debate, and one with long-term potential to undermine her candidacy.

“Senator Clinton supports governors like Governor Spitzer who believe they need such a measure to deal with the crisis caused by this administration’s failure to pass comprehensive immigration reform,’” her campaign said.
"

Clinton knew that the Race and MecHA could potentially destroy her campaign if they thought she was a threat to the open borders and North American Unionistas.

Contrast Clinton to Duncan Hunter's get real approach on the fron of his website. Click the video for the way things should be done in this country instead what the Race wants.

The Democrats simply can't be taken seriously at this point.

DEAR OPPONENTS OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION LOOKING FOR SOME GOOD NEWS,

I want to bring you several pieces of breaking and recent good news. Many things are moving in the right direction. Some of them have action items. Please note and enjoy.

REPUBLICANS BEGINNING TO GET EXCITED ABOUT THE DEMOCRATIC ‘SAVE ACT’

Many Republicans have been cautious about a Democratic “Enforcement-Only” bill being promoted by Rep. Heath Shuler (D-N.C.) and gaining dozens of Democratic original co-sponsors before its introduction next week.

With nearly all the top leaders of the Democratic Party promoting amnesty and other rewards for illegal immigration, the question among Republicans has been whether the “SAVE Act” that comes from mostly lower-level Democratic Members of Congress can be trusted to truly combat illegal immigration?

Key Republican leaders of the anti-illegal movement have been giving the SAVE Act close scrutiny this week.

Doubts began to melt with the enthusiastic endorsement of the SAVE Act by California Republican Brian Bilbray, who earlier this year replaced Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) as chairman of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus (when Tancredo began running for President).

Bilbray promoted the SAVE Act at a key meeting of House Republicans today. And Rep. Tom Feeney (R-Fla.) was reported to have received a strongly positive reception from his fellow Republicans after walking them through the details of the bill.

You can read a lot more about the SAVE ACT (Secure America with Verification and Enforcement) at:
www.numbersusa.com/interests/attrition.html

Our Capitol Hill Team has been in the offices of our best Republican allies against illegal immigration all day. The report from the team is that these Republicans, after looking it over, believe in Shuler’s bill.

So do dozens of Democrats whose offices we’ve visited recently.

The fact is that this is becoming an incredible bi-partisan bill that represents the will of the American people to finally turn the tide on illegal immigration.

WOULD DEMOCRATIC LEADERS POSSIBLY ALLOW AN ENFORCEMENT-ONLY BILL TO COME TO FLOOR FOR A VOTE?

Even a month ago, that seemed highly unlikely. After all, the career immigration record of Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) rates at only 3% in our grading system! Only 11 of the 435 Members of the House are worse.

But all of you and many other Americans have made so much noise about illegal immigration that we are hearing some slight openness among Democratic leaders to allowing concerned Democrats to make their case.

Democratic leadership this week sent around this quote:

Democrats are reviewing poll after poll showing sagging popularity not only of Congress but also of their congressional leaders. So, some lawmakers have begun to argue, it just might be in everyone’s interest to show that Washington can actually tackle a serious issue without all of the theatrics and games.
–"New Congress at War Over Everything,” The Politico, 10/30/07
Real enforcement against illegal immigration sounds like just the issue, doesn’t it? Keep up the pressure.

SENATE AG CHAIRMAN STRONGLY OPPOSES ANY VOTE ON AgJOBS AMNESTY ON HIS FARM BILL NEXT WEEK

Chances of a giant amnesty for ag workers and their dependents diminished significantly this morning at the National Press Club.

Sen. Harkin (D-Iowa), chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee, told a group of reporters that he is adamently opposed to the Democratic leadership allowing the AgJOBS amnesty to be introduced as an amendment to “his” Farm Spending Bill.

Harkin noted that he is an original co-sponsor for the amnesty for illegal aliens working in agriculture. But he said immigration should not be legislated in the Farm Bill.

In fact, he said, immigration policy should not be taken up again until after “the next election.” That would be 2009!

Your NumbersUSA Capitol Hill Team is noticing intense friction among Senate Democrats behind the scenes. Some are determined to keep trying to find a way to get some kind of amnesty through for at least some of the country’s illegal aliens. But many other Democratic Senators are saying that they just can’t stand the thought of another bruising battle over amnesty. They believe their losing battles so far this year have hurt them with swing voters and hurt morale among their base.

YOUR PHONE CALLS & FAXES THIS WEEK CREATED AN IMMEDIATE STIR – AND SURPRISE

Late Sunday night, I alerted you to the possibility of an introduction of Rep. Shuler’s SAVE Act. I suggested that some of you might want to start calling your Representative to ask them to take a look at the bill.

By late Monday morning, Shuler’s office was being pounded with phone calls from other congressional offices in the Capitol.

The staffers were asking Shuler’s staffers, “What is this immigration bill that our constituents are calling us about this morning?”

Most of them hadn’t heard a thing about Shuler’s SAVE Act to keep illegal aliens out of U.S. jobs. So, they were really startled when NumbersUSA members started calling them as soon as they arrived at the office Monday and kept calling all day.

After three days of tens of thousands of faxes and thousands of phone calls, every office in the U.S. House (if not every staffer) has now heard about the SAVE Act from NumbersUSA constituents.

You have achieved your first task of moving this into the radar of nearly every office.

I’m sure your calls helped create more receptivity among Republicans who discussed the bill at their big meeting today.

REPUBLICAN VOTERS ARE WEEDING OUT THE OPEN-BORDERS TYPES IN THE PARTY

Pro-amnesty and open-borders views are taking a heavy toll on major Republican leaders this year.

Last spring, Sen. McCain (R-Ariz.) lost his front-runner status for the Republican Presidential nomination – and plummeted almost to single-digit polling – largely because of his highly public leadership pushing amnesties for illegal aliens. His staff admitted then and again recently that his small-donor contributions just dried up once the Senate amnesty battle began earlier this year.

Now, I am so proud of all you Republicans who have knocked Sen. Brownback (R-Kan.) out of the Presidential race. He had staked his hopes for the last two year on having a large core base of evangelical and conservative Catholic voters. He criss-crossed the country speaking to large religious conventions of these voters. Two years ago, I was hearing from many of these voters that they were enthralled with Sen. Brownback. When I would tell them about his aggressively pro-amnesty work, people reacted in disbelief.

But eventually the truth got out about Sen. Brownback’s immigration positions.

Most of his other positions were almost perfectly in line with the religious base he was seeking. But, like McCain, he totally blew it with an immigration position at odds with that base. Polls show that evangelicals, for example, oppose amnesties and rewards for illegal aliens by a higher margin than almost any demographic group.

NumbersUSA participated in advertising throughout Kansas starting years ago in efforts to make sure that voters there understood the leadership role Sen. Brownback was taking for open borders positions. We have looked for opportunities wherever we could to expose him during his Presidential run.

Along with defeated Sen. Spencer Abraham (R-Mich.) and defeated Rep. Dick Chrysler (R-Mich.) and firmly ensconced Rep. Howard Berman (D-Calif.), Brownback played the key role in working with Sen. Kennedy (D-Mass.) in 1996 in killing the immigration-reduction recommendations of the bi-partisan U.S. Commission on Immigration Reform, chaired by the late Barbara Jordan.

We are most pleased to see Sen. Brownback give up the race – and plan to leave the Senate after this term.

We are ecstatic to see Sen. Mel Martinez (R-Fla.) announce that he will soon be resigning as the head of the national Republican Party.

All news reports about his departure have noted that his constant leadership for amnesty this year has seriously hurt Republicans’ ability to raise money from small donors.

I am so thankful to the thousands of you who began faxing and phoning campaigns of protest as soon as Sen. Martinez was nominated for the Party leadership. This is a reminder that even when you don’t think you are having an effect at first, your pressure can eventually have results.

Thanks to all of you who have told us of returning every Republican solicitation for funds with a note that you won’t give another dollar until the Party has leaders who support immigration enforcement. You are having a real effect in gradually purging the Party of supporters of illegal immigration.

I hope all of you who are Democrats are paying attention. Many of you have been doing the same thing with Democratic fund-raising letters. Let’s put a lot more pressure on Howard Dean and the pro-amnesty leaders of the Party. It is not an impossible dream that these leaders will start to feel the heat and see the light, as national Republican leaders are starting to do.

THANKS FOR ALL THE MANY WAYS THAT YOU ARE SHIFTING THE POLITICAL BALANCE IN THIS COUNTRY."

This is a recent Democrat poll. It found that securing the border is the #1 issue among independent voters.  This might just spurn the liberals into allowing a vote on Schular's Act.

Why does illegal immigration concern you:

A)-Potential Terror Threat

B)-Potential Culture Threat (language, customs, attitudes)

C)-Population Increase

D)-Potential Negative Impact to the Economy

E)-All of the Above

F)-None of the aove/Other

If you answer that question honestly, it's very telling.

Not to the economy, but it's not a negative factor. It's more complex then just good and bad.

by Randomambusher on 10/31/2007 09:26:44 PM EST

While it might be a little more nuanced WRT the economy, it's clearly a net negative as it drives down wages.

Dangers of a $10 hamburger and $8 bag of strawberries have been greatly exaggerated by those who want to keep cheap, slave labor (and to provide no benefits, safe working conditions or threat of backlash due to the threat of deportation). The book Reefer Madness: Sex, Drugs, and Cheap Labor in the American Black Market by Eric Schlosser does a great job of breaking down just how little more consumers would pay for common goods were we to pay these people more.

The absolute worst excuse (sadly liberals are guilty of this too) is "they do jobs Americans won't do".

That statement is incredibly dishonest and misleading. It should be revised to say "they do jobs American's won't and shouldn't do without a living wage and safe working conditions"

The next time someone tries they "they do jobs" line, stop and think what we *know* Americans wil do.  Think about everything ranging from unclogging a toilet to sweating away in a hole-in-the-wall fast food joint. And in that context, is anyone really going to convince you that Americans are "too good" to pick strawberries in California and clean up a motel room?  Give me a break.

This is one issue where too many democrats fall short, because they want the hispanic vote.

Yes, it's true that we need to fight against the racial/xenophobic aspect that informs part of the perspective of the right on this issue, but that doesn't mean we should blanketly accept what's going on.

The bottom line is that we have an illegal empoyer problem, not an illegal immigration problem. I don't blame the people for coming here, we would too were we in their situation.

Prior to Reagan taking office there were around 2 million illegal immigrants in the US, and now we have around 13 million, give or take.  What changed? We can't ignore the desire for cheap labor to be exploited, along with questionable free trade policies (sorry Clinton, NAFTA shouldn't win you any fans) making the situation in Mexico worse, not better.

Why does illegal immigation concern me?

It's simple. Legal immigrants have advanced degrees in science, engineering and medicine. We need all of these people we can get.

By contrast, illegal immigrants bring very little to the Great American Picnic. If we allow anyone who wants to immigate to America in the door, we will be awash with stupid people.

A much better question is why does illegal immigation not concern you?

Hunters 63 Million $ Scam

Wrong...You shouldn't lie so much...I know conservatives cant help it...its a genetic thing apparently.

Anyway I never said it was...Hunter is under investigation for his ties with duPont Aerospace..(1) and the Duke. You see this airplane to the right  keeps coming back even after the Navy rejects it over an over (2)

In 1999, the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) conducted a technical oversight trip to the duPont Aerospace facility in San Diego... The review concluded that “The integrity of the [aircraft] to conduct safe hover or forward flight operations is questionable.” In the end, the team said the aircraft’s technical faults would “produce an extremely unsafe vehicle, not worthy of flight.”

63 Million dollars worth since then...

But I digress...the proposal is not just for war veterans now is it. Liar.

Since Hunter is a war veteran...that would include him in either case.

I doubt that any self respecting veteran or "war veteran" want to eliminate public access for the 500000 regular citizens that recreate there each year so we could have a hunting preserve. Not to mention that the Department of Defense had not even asked for it. In fact ther are several DOD facilities veterans can go hunting at. Aragonne National Labs..Fort AP Hill, NWSC Dalhgren, NWS Earle...the list goes on...

How about that Hubs, OHK..want to grab a national park so we can cap a few squirrels?

1. " Representative Duncan Hunter (R-CA), Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, is planning to propose an amendment to the Defense Authorization bill that would shift Santa Rosa Island, the second largest island within Channel Islands National Park, to an exclusive recreational outpost and game reserve for armed forces personnel and veterans, eliminating broader public access. In addition, the amendment would allow Special Operations Forces to use the island for military training. The clearest indication of the intent of this amendment comes from reviewing a similar proposal Rep. Hunter made to a military spending bill earlier this year. He withdrew that highly controversial amendment after objections were raised, and after it became apparent that the Department of Defense had not even asked for it. The first version of his amendment was a bad idea and the new, dressed up version is no better.(1)

WASHINGTON ” A California congressman confirmed Friday that he wants to convert Santa Rosa Island in Channel Islands National Park into a Department of Defense installation for military recreation and special forces training a move that would severely limit public access.

The proposal by Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-El Cajon), chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, is being circulated as an amendment to a defense authorization bill that both houses of Congress began hashing out this week.

Hunter put forward a similar measure in May, but withdrew it after objections from environmentalists and Democrats and after consulting with Republicans.(2)

The federal government purchased Santa Rosa Island for $30 million. In 1986, it became part of Channel Islands National Park along with four other islands in the chain — Santa Barbara, Anacapa, Santa Cruz and San Miguel.

Officials say the park had more than 500,000 visitors last year.(3)

(Our goal ) will not be reached until every human life is cherished and protected.

No equivocation,(unlike you) no stipulation,  no qualification like embryo,fetus,unborn...simpl y and eloquently stated :every human life is cherished and protected.

What about every do you not understand?

In that regard, Conservatives only cherish tax cuts and wrapping themselves in the flag when they are too cowardly to do the killing themselves.

Conservatives Death Culture  loves killing in keeping with " conservative values" that is "indirectly". Let the "free market" do it, scream about wealth redistribution and let indifference do it. let "voluntary" environmental regulations do it....find a "constitutional" reason why we cant do anything other than rake in the cash.

It gives you deniablity  and a rationalization for inaction. Now when 160 trillion in Iraq oil reserves are involved..let the bombs fly!. After all everything is OK as long as profits are maintained.

By the way...find a post of mine where I demanded the LEGAL right to kill anything.

Conservatives on the other hand are perfectly willing to let the children die to save a few dollars on their tax bill. Ken calls that " survival of the fittest". I call it murder by proxy.

What have you done to save living and breathing  children already born. Not a fucking thing. Now thats the values of a proud conservative. Keep praying for the ammo fucktard, Im sure theres something you can kill to prove how manly you are.

A picture alone does not constitute a comprehensive argument, it's just a pure appeal to emotion.

While an appeal to emotion can be *part* of a comprehensive argument, people who ONLY focus on the emotional aspect often make questionable decisions.

You're providing an excellent example.

Instead of posting pictures of aborted fetuses (mostly late term it seems, which is *incredibly rare* as something like 82% are done in the first trimester), why aren't you talking about ways to improve and expand good sex education and birth control?

Or improving foster care and adoption of *minority* children, to make those viable, realistic options.  Foster care is awful in this country, and since you like pictures so much, let me know when you find one of a long line of people waiting to adopt minority babies.

And for that matter, why not talk about improving the socioeconomic conditions that often lead to large populations with unwanted pregnancies?  You know, headstart, after school programs, better funded public ed and all of the things I already mentioned that will REDUCE the number of abortions.

Yelling "Abortion is MURDER!" is the equivalent of a vegan yelling "Meat is MURDER!".

In both cases, you only strengthen the opposition and turn people off.

It's fine if YOU personally believe abortion is wrong, which is why I would never force YOU or someone you love to have one.  Same deal with meat.  It's fine if YOU personally believe eating meat is wrong, I won't force you to eat it.

Before you respond "but think of the children" I have 2 points:

1)-I DO think of the children. Unwated kids are often born into low income areas with financially and emotionally unprepared parents (more likely parent, singular) and end up abused (physically, verball, sexually) and or into gangs, drugs, theft and on and on, culminating in death or jail.  If I have a choice between that awful life and simply not existing and not being aware that I don't exist, well, I'll let you guess which I prefer.

2)-Abortion and shooting a stranger are NOT the same thing.  As you've already conceded, the ending of a life/potential lie is not *always* murder. More importantly, 99% of people agree that shooting a stranger is a huge crime and murder.

Contrast that with a *majority* of the country favoring legalized abortion in some form, clearly showing they don't view it in the same way.

In that context, why are you fighting so hard to impose your *personal*, minority religious moral code onto others?  Isn't it antithetical to our democracy?

PS---Do you support (zygotic) stem cell research?

I jumped because I didn't see an argument against abortion, I saw a picture, and that's one of my pet peeves.

And it goes *both* ways.  I would NEVER post a picture of dead iraqi civilians and say "ah-ha, see, the war IS wrong!" because that wouldn't really be an argument in and of itself and I would just be appealing to emotion.

But if we dispense with the appeals to emotion and have a more reasoned and logical discussion of a complicated issue, I'm all for it.

That's a crucial point, although sometimes BytchBang isn't even going for an emotional response with his little art projects.  I'm convinced he just wants to gross us out.  Now let's see how long it takes for BB to create a puppet account and start pretending to be a progressive who posts pictures of dead Iraqis.

It actually creates MORE abortion:

huffingtonpost.com/cristina -page/the-deafening-silence _b_68950.html

And neither of us want *more* abortions, which is why the focus on murder vs not murder (or even choice vs no choice) is irrelevant, especially since abortion is currently legal and a majority of of America agrees it should be.

Again, let's focus on reducing unwanted pregnancies and improving adoption and foster care.  Unfortunatley, it seems most republicans have little interest in those ideas, and would prefer to pump millions into abstinence only education, which has been debunked and proven inneffective as a stand alone method.

Kids taught abstinence only DO delay sex, but they eventually have it and are *more* likely to not use protection.

PS---How *do* you feel about stem cell research.  Also, would you be influenced by a vegan posting gruesome factory farm/slaughterhouse pictures with regard to his goal of stopping you from eating meat?  Would you deny those pictures or attack the messenger as a loon who should mind his own business?

For the record, I'm no vegan or even a vegetarian.  Granted, I'm not a huge carnivore but I enjoy chicken, bacon and sometimes a burger or gyro.  But I do see interesting parallels between radical pro-lifers and radical vegans.

I hear that here and there from staunch conservatives.  It reminds me of when Jon Stewart said something like "apparently facts have a liberal bias".

Lately that statement is more and more relevant, but for the record, of COURSE we *all* have bias to one degree or another, the question is can we become aware of it when it manifests itself and clouds our judgement.  I try to do that, and while I'm not perfect, I think I do a decent job overall.

As for you huntin' and fishin', I'm not talking about that.  I'm talking about factory farms.  And again, my point is that there is a minority group who's goal is to stop YOU or ANYONE ELSE from eating meat based on *their* personal belief that eating meat is murder and therefore always wrong.

They, like pro-lifers (also a minority), don't especially care that a solid majority of the country is in favor of some form of legalized abortion.  They believe it's critical to continue to push their agenda, and they often show graphic pictures of factory farming, etc.

And just like your abortion pictures, some people will react (but rarely change their mind) while others will shrug it off.

PS---Please don't tell me to "look up" your views on stem cell research, I don't have that much time on my hands. How about this, I simply want to know if you agree we shouldn't be conducting what you would call "embryonic stem cell research". A yes or no is fine. My answer is "yes".

PPS---Again, with regard to bias notice that I've compared a radical left group to a radical right group.  Also, notice my views on the illegal employer problem further up in this thread.  That was the original topic after all.

Why are you wasting your time. BBBrain is simply a hate mongering troll. He claims to be a "proud conservative" but has no idea what that means other tha being a condescending, obnoxious prick.

He considered every one here his "political enemy",his words. Not being a politician myself I'm wondering how that works...no matter. He has openly said he despises "leftards" or people who he perceives to be leftards. He rejects all overtures of detente with out some sort of mi culpa from the world about his life consuming obsession...abortion. Having beat him like a piñata on so so many occasions and so many subjects I can assure you it takes about a nano second for any discussion to "tarded" to death.

Finally he has threatened Cenk ( with hanging), OHK ( with just about everything) myself  and others with violence with threats of "taking it to the next level". on several occasions. And yet hes' still here...

He once was asked what a "leftoid" was and gave some flip answer. Well BBBrain is a him-a-roid.

him: Man; a male; any male person

a: Infinitive Unlimited; not bounded or restricted; undefined

roid: Abbreviation for hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids of the anus and rectum are enlarged bulging blood vessels located inside or outside the anus. suffix resembling a thing or object

Put it all together and you have :himaroid A man who resembles an unrestrcted mass of enlarged bulging blood vessels located inside or outside the anus. Infinietly so.

So say I,  so say we all.

Effective immediately I am done with him.  Fini . I suggest you wash you hands of him as well. As we all should.

Immigration: How Bush and Conservative Croynism refute Liarcross claims about illeagle immigration.

American Immigration Enforcement Held Hostage, YEAR ONE By Debbie Schlussel

Today marks the first (and, hopefully, the last) anniversary of Julie L. Myers' a/k/a "The ICE Princess" reign over Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). More than a year ago,

I began writing about the "President's" awful nomination of this incompetent woman to head up the enforcement of our nation's immigration laws and the ever shrinking customs investigations (drug smuggling, money laundering, weapons smuggling, child pornography, etc.) that were the domain of the Office of Investigations of the U.S. Customs Service.

Julie Myers: The Joke That's Lasted A Year. What's the punchline?

I put the word "President" in quotation marks because--even though it is his ultimate and foolhardy nomination and subsequent recess appointment--The ICE Princess was in charge of the search for the new ICE chieftain, and she pulled a Cheney.

She chose herself, and the President approved because her uncle--General Richard Myers--pressed the President to help his "talented" niece, and her old crony and former boss, DHS chief Michael Chertoff, pimped her to the White House and on America, as well.

It was a year ago today, January 9th--after the cowardly recess appointment--that Myers stepped into her way totally cool office, got her runaway bride glare photogged to be posted all over ICE, and got her unearned credentials.

In that one year, I've detailed the tremendous waste of your tax dollars in the name of Myers' and her cronies' self-promotion, including a week-long party in her hometown of Kansas City, featuring respected immigration enforcement authority, Tommy Lasorda. At $30-50K, it was a big cha-ching for Lasorda (courtesy of U.S. taxpayers), a good time for ICE Princessdom, and the loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars in your money that could have gone to--and Congress allocated expressly for--immigration enforcement.

Myers also absurd, wasteful bonuses--like the $45,000 reportedly given to ICE Director of Investigations Marcy Forman-Friedman a/k/a "Peppermint Patty." In that same time, ICE agents from all over the country have repeatedly complained to me that ICE is constantly short of money--that they are constantly short of pens and files to open new cases and investigations, and are not allowed to get oil changes on cars that have driven several thousand miles. ICE can't afford it.

Then, there are Myers' failures--no, refusals--to work with local law enforcement to help them help ICE enforce immigration laws. When Costa Mesa, California Mayor Allan Mansoor announced plans to have about 200 officers train with ICE and engage in immigration enforcement, little did he know that Myers would put the kabosh on it. Ditto for a group of Oklahoma legislators who also wanted to partner with ICE to make Oklahoma a State friendly to immigration enforcement. Myers couldn't be bothered. She was too busy partying in Kansas City, making dumb ICE Promotional videos, when a great video (minus Myers' runaway bride visage) was already in existence.

Taxpayers paid twice so Myers could stamp herself into it. Proving that twice is not always twice as nice. And don't forget The ICE Princess' creation of a new, high-paying personal legal counsel position, because she wanted her own personal lawyer--being too good to go to the ICE army of lawyers everyone else in her agency uses. In January, when she started the job (though she had a spy--fellow cronyist spoiled brat, Daniel T. Fahner--at ICE for months before), she began by ordering ICE agents in Texas to turn illegal aliens they arrested at a job site back to the great American abyss, without even verifying their identities. And it's been similar tactics ever since. Under her watch,

The ICE Princess has allowed agents who participated in sex crimes and harassment to remain on the job, with one even being allowed to retire and collect a generous pension.

She's changed the rules so cronies, like her friend, Traci Lembke (head of ICE's Office of Professional Responsibility), can keep jobs with limited hours and flexible conditions that are unacceptable and unheard of for a man. And Lembke's job doesn't really matter anymore, anyway. When it comes to professional responsibility, Myers doesn't care about maintaining honesty and integrity within ICE ranks.

She promoted John P. Torres, a man who obtained a job for an unqualified alleged extramarital paramour of his, to a permanent position within ICE and nixed ICE OPR's prescribed several-month suspension of him. He's Director of ICE's Detention and Removal Operations. Not good to have a guy so willing to engage in unethical conduct running that operation (and he's no qualified to do so, either).

Yet, despite that, Myers made him the permanent chief of that division and canceled any discipline for his unethical--and, likely, illegal--behavior. So much for discipline. She encouraged agents like Brian Moskowitz a/k/a "Abu Moskowitz" to continue consorting with extremist Muslims--even a "former" terrorist--who support terrorism.

She hasn't had a problem with Moskowitz asking that "former" terrorist to recruit Muslim agents, or with the fact that serious investigations into the Islamic community's involvement in immigration violations have been shut down or ridiculously compromised, to sustain this absurd relationship.

So what are Myers achievements, other than promoting herself at the cost to you, the American taxpayer? Well, she did have ICE do some arrests at employers--first the pallet company in the spring, and then the raid of Swift & Co. meat packing in December. But did you know the Swift raid was a year in the making and planning? If all raids take that long, don't look for many to happen.

Do you enjoy the fact that you paid for a week's worth of partying for 1,000 ICE personnel in Denver in connection with the raid? Gives extra special significance to the moniker, "Mile High City," in a lot of ways. In the case of the pallet company, previously incarcerated illegal aliens were released to freedom to make room for those newly arrested for the cameras.

Many of those arrested were released within a day. A big waste, but useful in crafting Myers' PR and image to the outside world, which is her main goal, since she's roundly despised within her agency.

Despite zero law enforcement experience, barely having held any job in the Bush Administration for more than a year, and a lackluster record of ever having done anything to deserve this job, a 36-year-old from Kansas had enough pull, enough cronies, and enough protectzia to get the job she wanted, with wanton and wholesale disregard for America's national security.

We're not sure who is more harmed by The ICE Princess--the citizenry of the United States of America, or the baby she chose to have while in this very important position that requires 24/7 attention and involvement. Either that baby is suffering from inadequate attention by its mother or the country is suffering from inadequate attention to running the fiefdom that enforces immigration law. It's clearly the latter, judging by the past year.

Agents are leaving in droves, retiring early despite plans to stay on, and transferring to other agencies even with a steep cut in government paygrade to do so. Morale is at an all-time low.

And that is due, in no small part, to the person at the top and her lack of management, leadership, and law enforcement knowledge. Happy Anniversary to ICE's own Veruca Salt--the selfish, incompetent Julie Myers. We hope there won't be a second one. American Immigration Enforcement Held Hostage, Year One.

Moral: Conservative only care about immigration when it impacts their bottom line.

Remember in the old coyote and roadrunner cartoons where the coyote pulls a little rock out of the wall of the cave and about a hundred tons of rock come crashing down on his head?

That's what these series of post remind me of.  Thanks for pulling out the rock acroso, it was great fun to watch.  Is anyone going to dig him out?  Anyone?

The number of actual trolls around here is nothing close to the number of people who accused of being trolls on a daily basis.  That word gets thrown around with alarming ease around here.

The conservatives that hang round a liberal blog and stir shit are ... KenTX.. Acros..BytchBang..  and a couple more...

There are some old "regs" that like to distinguish between them. In my opinion if its posts reflect that the person is a gay bashing.. hateful Dem bating right wing nut job then thats what they are..simple. You can read the posts and make up your mind for yourself of courrrrrse. Im not an old reg..and I noticed the same thing you did. But I like TYT .

And remember Cenk takes no prisoners ..  so if you like him  please become a member and support him.. you will like the members only after show stuff... its fun  and you see Cenk getting a bit down n real.. REAL  :)

I had a lay-over (nope, that sounds bad)...

I had a connection (oh god that's even worse...okay back to "lack-over")...

I had a lay-over in the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport on my way back home a couple weeks ago.  I really wanted to take a humorous mobile phone photo in front of a restroom entrance for my blog, but I was afraid I might be arrested and miss my flight.  Especially since, every five minutes, a recorded voice reminded me that the SECURITY ALERT LEVEL IS ORANGE.  Is this the kind of unnecessary crap you have to deal with all the time when you live in the US these days?

Widestance Craig is a liberal. We've been trying to get rid of him forever, and we still can't seem to get rid of him.

Q:How do you acroso is lying? A:When he posts.Welcome to the Political Dating Game...our first contestant is Liacroso. Liacroso is a troll from TYT . He lists his hobbies as cooking ants with a magnifying glass, making crank 911 calls, avoiding military service and completing crossword puzzles in dotors offices in ink...with the wrong answers.

Liacroso: Bachelor Number One. What are your conservative credentials?

Bachelor number 1 :

Ok..well...when Im not in court I accomplished the following

  1. Served as Senate Republican Policy Committee chairman from 1997 until 2003
  2. The American Conservative Union rated his voting record at 96 out of 100 points,
  3. Supported the Federal Marriage Amendment, which barred extension of rights to same-sex couples; he voted for cloture on the amendment in both 2004 and 2006
  4. Member of the Board of Directors of the National Rifle Association since 1983.
  5. I believe in the constitutional principles of limited federal government, free enterprise, private property and individual liberty and responsibility. I will defend these principles on behalf of the citizens of the...Nation.

Chuck: Whats that ?

This is a sure sign that the Republicans are screwed.  If they dump all the pervs they lose have their voting strength.

without also dumping David Vitter.

Blatent hypocrisy makes us look bad.

Both guys will be replaced by GOP governors.

You should be used to it by now.

Every thing about Republicans is blatantly hypocritical.

Where else but Republico Land can the head of Product Safety take golf and gambling junkets finaced by Big toy companies while calling for stronger voulentary regulations and inspections for lead.

Yep...you should be so proud.

I had plenty of interaction with this agency during the Clinton Administration. They could always be counted on to make a decision that was illogical or just plain wrong. And you want to talk corruption? If there were Chinese Communists involved, they always got the red carpet treatment. Chinese money rules both Clintons. There are 300 million Americans, and you guys can't come up with any better than that in 16 years?

Uh huh......you better hope Hillary gets elected. Your " its Clintons fault" diatribes are a little tired after 7 years of Bushism. You know, let me ask you something. If the Clinton Administration was so egregious why is it that Bush and 6 years of solid Republican majorities couldn't fix all those problems. One wonders.

Never mind.....I know the answer.. In Republican speak  decisions that are illogical or just plain wrong means protecting the consumer vice taking cash from the companies they regulate.

Got it.

Thanks.

Clinton 'broadly supports' states' efforts to license illegals

Clinton further clarified her comments...DRIVER'S LICENSES FOR ALL VISA OVERSTAYERS!

Of course if you haven't yet overstayed your VISA, you're not eligible for one. you have to be ILLEGAL.
