Praise for Turkey!

Just listening a bit to the talk re Turkey vs. US.  So distressing to me.  Raised in the States (and ashamed of our government), the typical mix of Irish, Native American, probably African (somewhere along the line although my forebears were dirt poor Irish people who immigrated during the potato famine.  Would be proud if somewhere along the line some had married African-Americans!), I have traveled to Turkey and I love the place and the Turkish people.  The sense of history which surrounds one while there is amazing.  And Orhan Pamuk - well, he is one of the finest authors alive.  My heart breaks for what is happening in the world and I am ashamed that a so-called advanced and privileged nation (the US) is acting in such a fascist and idiotic way.

oops! Haven't done this before.  Maybe my age - 57 - will give you reason to excuse my ineptitude when it comes to writing thus!
