BIll Press and the Beltway Democrats Exposed

Kucinich forces the issue

Bill Press, morning liberal radio talk show host in DC is a guy who likes to portray himself as an anti business as usual in DC type. He rails against the Bush administation  and the democrtatic party's ineptitude of various sorts that takes place in DC on a daily basis. In fact though, Bill is a stauch defender of the staus quo regarding the political operations in DC as anyone who listens to his show is aware. He is a long tiime veteran of inside the beltway politics.

I happened to hear his program yesterday driving from DC to NJ, and his institutionalized biases where never more evident when it came to the following subject.

He conducted a poll regarding Kucinich's impeachement resolutions against Cheney. He stated clearly he was against the resolution because it would distract from the focus of '08 and congress would not get anything done in the subsequent year distracted by impeachment rangle and foremost: there were not enough votes to accomplish the goal anyway.

To his obvious shock (and dismay) every single caller demanded impeachment proceedings be allowed to start. As far as "not enough votes" people didn't care. They want to make a statement. They want someone to stand up and show leadership against the criminality that is taking place in DC with the Bush adminstration and their complicit joy toy democratic compatriots and let the chips fall where they may. Not enough votes be damned, and thats the message these democrtatic jackasses in DC arn't getting and thats why they all gotta go Pelosi, Hoyer, Reid, Murtha, every one of them are the proverbial tits on a boar hog.

And Press, he finally (after about 10 calls) gave up in frustration realizing that no caller on that subject was going to agree with him. He ended cuttiing off soame lady from Maine who was in the process of laying out the details on why he was wrong on every point regarding his objection to the Cheney impeachement resolution.

And one last irony that emphasizes the disconnect: it was Bill Press who repaced the Young Turks on 1260 AM in DC.

I couldn't agree more. It is a crime to have an Air America affiliate and not to have TYT start out the day. Listening to Bill Press in the morning is like getting reheated overcooked vegetables for breakfast, when you could be having a champagne brunch.

Get in touch with the program director, Bill Hess, for WWRC the DC Air America affiliate. Tell them that you want Cenk and Jr. on the air in the morning.

PS If you send him an email he won't have any idea where you live (unless you tell him.) So as far as he knows, you live in the DC listening area. I'm not saying, I'm just saying.........

WWRL is a mess, except it was the only venue for Air America in DC--until recently. It seems that sports are more important than anything else on the station. Everybody likes sports--NO, not at the expense of a few hours of liberal talk in the vast wasteland of conservative talk.

Another local station, WWWT, 107.7fm, 1500am, 820am, picked up Randi Rhodes' show. I wonder if they can be convinced to pick up one more AAR program to balance the rest of their 'hate radio' -- Bill O'Reilly, Neal Boortz, Glenn Beck. To be fair, they also have Stephanie Miller and a few MOR types. Ask them to pick up TYT, too.

WWRC [in DC], not WWRL [in NYC].

Come to think of it, WWRL would be much better with TYT in the mornings too.

Republicans were very supportive of NutBoy's impeachment resolution.

We would love to see Democrats working on impeachment for the next 12 months.

Bring it.

"Democrats answered the GOP play with a maneuver of their own. Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) moved to refer the impeachment resolution to the Judiciary Committee. He then made a motion to end debate on his first motion--pouring water on the GOP plan to force a debate on the vice president."

Am I the only person in this room who finds it hilarious that Republicans voted to support my favorite martian's attempt to impeach Cheney, while Democrats voted to table the motion? Britt Hume reported this on Special Report, and he laughed so hard he had tears streaming down his face.

Is Kucinich the only Democrat nutty enough to initiate impeachment? You guys are really letting us down!

Where is SeattleJoe when we need him? He would definitely be backing this moonbattery!

The UFO told Kucinich to do it.

Why is the approval rating for Democrats in Congress hovering at 11%? I don't think voters will want a DC insider like some Senator in 2008. Furthermore, I think they will be tired of the Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton merry-go-round. Voters are tired of incumbents. Ask the people of LA and KY.

Try to understand? we DO .. you are the one in the 24% that just doesnt get it.

"it is long past time for us to WAKE UP and get off the Bush/Clinton merry-go-round. You GO, Senator Edwards"

You sure you are the only one that came up with that bush clinton merry go round thing?

Quinnipiac is considered the most accurate poll. They give George Bush a 35% approval rating, and Congressional Democrats a 21% approval rating.

Yes, Ken, Congress overall is at 11% - not just the Democrats. Democrats are looked upon as slightly less ineffective and incompetent than Republicans.

Who could argue that? Repiblicans increased the national debt more and faster than any group of Dems ever did when they've been in charge. They proved they can't be trusted with the credit card, now it's left up to the Democrats to pull the country's ass out of the fire AGAIN.

By who? I suspect only when it spins your way. In any case I don't consider Quahog the most accurate poll. Maybe we should take a poll? Give up on the Democrat Congress jihad...nobody is buying it...since the approval went up 11% since your original post...even you it appears.

LOL @ Democrat Jihad .. I laughed right out loud
To me its pretty telling when 34% is higher poll number

Ken,

The question one should ask is why are the Republicans so corrupt that they allow Fat Man and Little Boy (what, you don't think they've been as devastating as nukes?) to keep on breaking the law on a daily basis?

Another difference of Repubs today as opposed to 40 years ago - Republicans actively helped with Nixon's impeachment proceedings because it was the right thing to do. Funny how Repiblicans these days are too "party affiliate" minded to actually do the job they swore to do - uphold the Constitution.

The Democrats may be pussies, but the Republicans are are even BIGGER pussies for being willing accomplices in this national disgrace. If they were REALLY interested in law and order, THEY would have initiated proceedings in March of 2003.

I think I'll change my registration to Democrat so I can vote for Kucinich in the primary.

They're not much different from the Republicans in the 20s who supported laissez faire and phony money/stocks which was one of the main causes of the Great Depression.

They're not much different from Republicans like the du Ponts and Walker/Bush in the 30s who supported the nationalist regime and [I hate to bring up the name, but it's true] Hitler.

They're not much different from the Republicans in the 40s who financed Germany during the war, like Prescott Bush.

They're not much different from the Republicans in the 50s who beat the anti-communist drum along with Joe McCarthy and put a lot of innocent people out of work and in jail.

They're not so much different from the Republicans in the 60s who advised and lied to Kennedy about Cuba and Viet Nam [but did they kill him? --don't know, yet]. Against Eisenhower's warnings, they encouraged and financed the rise of the military industrial complex.

A glitch in the conscience of a few Republicans led to impeachment for Nixon's crimes, but Repubs were the ones who did the crimes, too.

Well it's back to the same old paranoid, greedy, thieving, lying, racist MO in the 80s, 90s and now. Lincoln must be spinning in his grave.
