THE GHOSTS OF CIA TORTURE TAPES

In light of all this CIA illegal destruction of evidence on torture, I am once again clipping the youtube torture video with an update.

The 1959 Rod Serling, TV series appears similar to THE BUSH ZONE, with one exception. "The Twilight Zone" was suppose to be science fiction, but the show rarely offered scientific explanations. It often had a moral lesson that pertained to everyday life.

The only lesson in the Bush Twilight Zone is LIE, CHEAT, MANIPULATE but if you get caught, concoct incompetence for it's better to look naively ineffectual than expose what you really are, an unprincipled, power-hungry totalitarian!

Ya wanna bet, they'll get away with this one too!

is there anyone on the planet besides the 28% true believers that actually believes that the  tapes where destroyed to protect the identity of "under cover " operatives depicted performing torture ?

Well SanFran says America DOES torture terrorists who won't talk, and she opposes impeachment.

Better talk to her since McCain is in the minority.

Pelosi was well aware of everything that went on way back in 2003, and had no problem with it. Then she goes out grand standing and blaming republicans.

Well, I don't care what we have to do to those filthy Jews, as long as it keeps me and my children safe at night. Substitute arab or terrorist for the word Jew, translate it into German and we aren't that much different than the Nazis.

You know, I don't want to see it, but if it happens at night or behind closed doors and no one has to know about it, I trust those in charge to take care of things. After all, we are a civilized society, we don't want the Niggers taking over. Substitute arab or terrorist or Muslim for the word Nigger, and we don't sound that much different than the KKK.

When Bush speaks internationally he speaks for all US citizens, like it or not. We lost countless souls at Normandy trying to take the beach head, and yet we've become that which we hated, we've become that which we tried so hard to fend off, we've become the Nazis.

As a matter of fact, it was the Nuremberg trials after the war where Nazi war criminals were tried which was the basis for much of the Geneave Accord, which has outlawed torture. Now I'm not gonna argue with KenTX and Acrosso about the legality of international treaty and the president's role as commander in chief, if you want to win that argument so badly fine you've won it. The point is we signed it because we lost millions of young men fighting to live in a world in which humans treated each other with dignity and not like dogs.

And now instead we've become the Nazis. But of course, hey, it is a post 9/11 world. Interesting that it again, is, but of course, the Central Intelligence Agency, those purveyors of pornography, prostitution and safe houses, those experimenters with LSD-25, those zany spooks who brought us the Bay of Pigs, MK-Ultra mind control project, and well, hey I guess you could say they wrote the book on torture. But hey, no worries, now they've got the book on video. Oh thank god, I just hate reading.

Project Paperclip was the designation for relocating nazis in the US after the war, mainly rocket scientists but also some spies, covert ops and so-called valuable assets. It was the start of the cold war and the rationale was if we didn't the ruskies would. The rocket scientists, who went on to help build our ICBM's, get much of the reknown, but now you have to look back on history in a new light.

Whatever you do, don't click this link (studies show you're more likely if you shouldn't)

"....But what about those congressional leaders who were briefed on the torture program as early as 2002? That includes Democrats like Nancy Pelosi, who has specialized in heartfelt speeches condemning torturers in faraway places like China.

Pelosi's press aide Brendan Daly told me that the Washington Post report on her CIA briefing was "overblown" because Pelosi, then the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee thought the techniques described, which the CIA insists included waterboarding, were planned for the future and not yet in use. Pelosi claimed that "several months later" her successor as the ranking Democrat, Rep. Jane Harman of Los Angeles County, was advised the techniques "had in fact been employed" and wrote a classified letter to the CIA in protest, and Pelosi "concurred." Neither went public with her concerns.

Harman told the Washington Post "I was briefed, but the information was closely held to just the Gang of Four. I was not free to disclose anything." The "Gang of Four" is an insider reference to the top members of the House and Senate intelligence committees and not to the thugs who ran Mao's China during the Cultural Revolution.

Not only did the congressional Gang of Four fail to inform the public about the use of torture by our government but they also kept the 9/11 Commission in the dark.

Pelosi testified before the commission on May 22, 2003 but uttered not a word of caution about the methods used. However, more than two years later on Nov. 16, 2005, Pelosi stated correctly that on the basis of her "many years on the intelligence committee," she knew that "The quality of intelligence that is collected by torture is ... uncorroborated and it is worthless."

Hopefully I am missing something here, having admired Pelosi for decades, but if she and the others in the know have another version of these events, it's time to come clean. As matters now stand, they not only concealed torture but, more significantly, they abetted the waterboarding of our democracy."
