I believe Paul backtracked off those comments a couple hours aftwards or at least that's what I read on NR.
Also when asked about his religion Paul is not afraid to tell people. He does not believe in evolution and strongly opposes abortion with the belief that abortionists should be jailed.
just lettin ya know.
Here's a still from the ad. There's no mistaking the intentional lighing job done to make the "bookcase shelves" illuminate as a cross.
Putting aside the general election, this ad is most likely Huckabee's "closer" against Romney, reminding the Iowa voters that *he*, not Romney, is the true Christian.
And, sorry JR, but any candidate declaring "I'm a Christian" as the sole message in a political ad should have no place in American politics. There should be no religious test for office, so responsible candidates should not be using their religion as a reason to vote for them. Do you not get that?
Now, should Huckabee be the sole candidate castigated for hyping their religion? No. In fact, within the limited scope of the Republican primaries, Huckabee's ad might be considered a simple reply to Romney's "freedom requires religion" speech. Republicans have wallowed deeply in the religious waters for a few decades now, so there shouldn't be any real surprise when messages like this pop-up.
