John Conyers in Detroit prior to Thanksgiving - about Bush and impeachment

So, I've been meaning to post this for a while but was extremely busy...

John Conyers was hosting an event in Detroit right before Thanksgiving on behalf of the Einsenhower Foundation http://www.clickondetroit.c om/news/14594268/detail.htm l

this event was transcribed for posterity but Conyers spoke about Bush and impeachment...

he stated clearly that he has NO INTENT TO IMPEACH now but referenced strongly to actions/sanctions happening AFTER he is out of office...to some applause and some grunts...

is this plausible? can they (Congress) do something to him after he gets out of office? is he relying on the thought of a Democratic president to help this happen?

In my opinion. Impeaching him should have been the way to go of course. But knew it would never happen. The Dem's better do something about the mess he made after he gets out of office. Its going to take years!

That's just silly, you'd need a time machine to undo the damage done. You'd probably have to go back to George Herbert Walker Bush's days at Yale to undo the damage done. You'd have more luck reversing global warming, the destruction of America's forests or the imbalance of carbon emissions. You can't talk about the damage done by George W. Bush without looking at the damage done by poppy because much of it is redundant.

People talk about Reagen's Legacy and want to nominate him for sainthood. Ronny's legacy is 9/11. We created the situation which let the Taliban take power, and we trained and funded Osama, Saddam and even indirectly armed Hezzbollah (through the Iranians and the Iran Contra affair).

We probably won't ever be able to rid the world of nuclear weapons, nor pay down the national debt which was created by the enormous cost of stockpiling them. We hand our children and our children's children a gov't saddled by taxes paying for interest on debt from loans paying down the interest on debt.

Of course, if you had a time machine in the first place, you could just move back to the 80's, get a walkman and some Duran Duran tapes, put your money into tax shelters and go back into denial in your le tigre shirts. Back when Osama Bin Laden was our favorite freedom fighter, back when Rambo was kicking the Rusky's ass all over Afghanistan with the help of the Taliban war lords. Ah, the simpler time, when Air Jordans cost $30, MJ was still black, OJ was just a retired hall of famer, gatorade only came in one flavor and the new Coke was still new.

If we can still find a way to fight the war on terrorism while paying down the national debt without ruining our GDP, then we might have a shot at recovering from the Bushes and the military industrial complex that they are part of. But you probably can't fight the war on terrorism without the help of the military industrial complex, and paying down the national debt without ruining GDP would probably mean, in the end, letting children starve while ignoring our schools, the elderly and the disabled. And we've only got about 10 years to do it before Medicaid and Social Security would spiral out of control and become 60 trillion dollar programs combined. As of right now, social security is still the only solvent part of the gov't with a surplus, so there is no need to fix it unless you are just after the surplus to pay for more bombs and bullets and bullshit. But the Bushes have left us in quite the predicament.

The weekly standard went on attack this week against the NIE report trying to discredit it. I read and article by Michael Goldfarb that said we should attack.

Translating Ken's language for the uninitiated:

Thank you, have a nice day.

That's Kenspeak for: "Hey, go fuck yourself bub, and while you're at it, go fuck your mom, your dad, go fuck your entire fucking anti-american, faggot, pinko-lefty commie asshole, liberal, ACLU, drug abusing, terrorist loving fucking family, you piece of shit pansy pantie waste."

If you were, in person, and at this point spoke up to try and reply to this, you would instead be talked over, as Ken, still in control of himself, would, in a fairly inaudible growl, repeat once again the phrase:

"Thank you. Have a nice day."

If you insisted on trying to get a word in edge wise, Ken would, with a rather large shit eating grin, smile, continue repeating Thank you, getting louder and louder (while, inside his head, a truly strange and horrific place to be, he would be repeating some variation of the phrase "Pins and needles, needles and pins, it's the happy man who always grins" while counting to ten slowly, or perhaps counting backwards from ten) and would continue doing this until you shut up in exasperation.

At this, Ken would, taking your quiet submission as a token sign of his victory, his moral superiority, his outright demolition of you on the virtual field of verbal wits, allow you a moment to reply, all the while leaning in closer and closer to you, with the same shit eating grin, perhaps mockingly holding an ear waiting for your vain reply (as if to say, I can't hear you). This shows that in his great glorious victory Ken is still magnanimous.

If no reply is made, however, in the brief interval that follows, he will probably mutter something to himself like, "I thought so" or "figures" which denotes his disgust with your feeble and weak spirit, the byproduct of years of liberal indoctrination by rags that pass for the press like the New York Times.

At this point you might be in a fit of anger, just stuttering, trying to control your own temper while spitting out nonsense syllables while foaming at the mouth. And Ken will of course, stand back, gloat at the marvelous achievement, and simply continue to repeat his mantra:

"Thank you. Have a nice day."

...is that most Republicans are gay. To be accurate, most Republicans are repressed homosexuals (excluding the openly gay Log Cabin Republicans) which manifests itself in angry and often violent attitudes towards stereotypical gay traits i.e. sensitivity, emotional displays, femininity, etc. Clearly there is no point in arguing with someone with this disposition as their paranoid, neurotic anxiety caused by the shame and guilt of the natural homosexual impulses they feel often leads them to overcompensate their lack of logic with dogma. The need for an authoritarian figure to provide discipline, direction and correction is a very natural reaction for someone in this condition and you should feel sympathy for them and not react (as you would with a child) to their ad hominine attacks, circular logic, and what essentially distils down to a "na na na boo boo" argument...

Hell, there's a whole segment of this show devoted to how so many Republicans are hypocritical on the issue.  Republican Sexcapades is always an entertaining half hour.

...you're so concerned about gay-jumping you should either contemplate your boorish approach to argument or reread the pages of BS you post as opposed to the 3 times I've actually logged on...but that would require you exercising reason above your spinal cord and doing some research beyond talking points...either way, highly unlikely

Since you are a paranoid nut job. What is so hard to understand that several people make that observation?  I have seen more than the 2 that you linked make the same observation.

As far as admitting to 'nick jumping' when are you going to admit that you are the ignorant gay bashing tosser that changed their Nick to one that looks like mine and had all the posts removed??

Oh BTW  NOBODY?  Thats odd . Cenk just spent an entire segment talking about how your buddy Savage is a self loathing closet homo.

You know whats boring? A moronic right wing whack job posting on a liberal shows blog who refers to himself in the 3rd person parroting Limbaugh .

What's that line "I wouldn't be so paranoid if everyone wasn't out to get me"?? Seriously, if you don't like people replying in kind then don't post gargbage like you have on this thread...further to that if you want to talk about trying patience, from my estimation you have hijacked practically every thread you contribute to so quit being such a crybaby, and as well you can complain to Dave all you want but even he knows who I am which is not Leebral...

Would the Indians have impeached Gen. Custar?

If you are a Democrat, Bush's clown ass in office is the gift that keeps on giving. They are not going to try to get rid of him.
