Darfur

My infinite frustrations and outrage at the world's inaction towards the crisis in Darfur. It's like watching a perfectly capable person full of potential for tremedous good sit paralyzed like he's handicapped. Come on, It's enough to make anyone want to travel around the world with a loud speaker and wake our dormant morality. Why? Does it all come down to special interest? Are we ignorant, apathetic or innocent? (I use we to refer to the same humanity that we share)

And they aren't a haven for the nasty terrorists. At least not yet! Do you really think governments care about morality and the greater good? I used to think that about 30-40 years ago. Folks in this country are more concerned about their McMansion's  and the  NCAA playoffs. Welcome to the real world!

Aren't they Black? That's a big strike against them. George and his Texas white boys don't even know they exist let alone give a crap. They're having too much fun killing the camel jockeys and sand n's in the Middle East! One has to wonder what $350 billion could have done in this country and in aid in a few others.

The Bush administration is caught in a civil war in Iraq that they cant get out of and still save face.  America's involvement in Iraq puts the U.S at more risk .

The fact that Bush Co. is ignoring Darfur is shameful

Who gives a shit what Clinton did?

So, we should cut and run from a civil war in Iraq and jump into a civil war in Sudan?

I am probably you 30-40 years ago ( a junior in high school). Just because I am idealistic, doesn't mean I'm unrealistic. Optimism is naive and immature but necessary in order to achieve the change that is desired. I get brushed off for, for lack of a better description, my "hippie-ideals", yet if i abandoned them, would i not be submitting into this corrupt and dreadful system. Responsibility doesn't lie solely with political institutions, it lies with every witness of this atrocity. I am about ready to give up on political institutions. I am, however, optimistic about the future. It's the only thing I have got.

Ill take hippie ideals any day over  fascist corporatism, and the destruction of Democracy.
