Young Turks Back Tomorrow -- The Return of the Pike

Everybody, calm down! You're at a ten and you need to be at a two. As most of you have figured out already, we just took the day off and we will be back tomorrow.

The man you heard today on Air America is another lovely, liberal talk show host who filled in for us. God bless his heart.

If you ever hear someone filling in for us, please give them all the support you can. We're all on the same team. If you ever hear we've been replaced anywhere, then get pissed and blot out the sun with your e-mails to that particular station (I bet they won't even fight in the shade).

Finally, tomorrow is the return of the Pike. Ben is out of town all week and we will have a great lineup of guest hosts all week.

Tuesday -- Jill Pike
Wednesday -- Christy Harvey, Center for American Progress
Thursday -- RJ Eskow, Huffington Post and The Night Light
Friday -- Rick Overton, Comic and Actor

I asked Pike to do more, but she is finicky. But for tomorrow, she is coming and probably coming over the top. Let's hope we don't get Imused. Just playing, it's going to be awesome.

blame it on jill  :)

although i miss her terribly from the TYT and love her dearly on the AT (although the show would fall apart without your focus),  I think you guys could work her for the last hour of each show and keep everyone happy.

Look, Jill was great on the old Sirius show (pre TYT TV), she added great pithy and sometimes silly comments and then she would disappear, going about her business booking guests or whatever. In fact my respect for her grew when she had to hold down the LA fort one show in summer 2004, while Cenk was in NY and Ben may have been doing his TCM thing.

But when cameras were introduced in the studio, and even worse when TYT moved to Air America, Jill was forced to take part in the whole show and became unbearable. The shows air time was reduced and Jill's mic time increased. Since she didn't have much more than a few minutes of material you could count on her to disrupt, sidetrack or complain bitterly that the topic was boring.

Hey, I love Jill, but I think she is where she needs to be on the AT. Now prove me wrong Jill and be pithy on Tuesday's TYT!
