First, its refreshening to hear SOMEONE interpret the 2nd ammendment LITERALLY.

Its there to provide citizens the ability to raise an army etc.

But in case you forgot that SINCE the civil war it has been REALLY illegal to conspire or take up arms against the US government.

And lets just state in hypotheticals, if we take the 2nd ammendment literally than I should be able to posses ANY weapon that at the very least the government posseses.
But I really dont think neocons want their non white neigbors to have AK-47s and explosives or nuclear munitions in their basement collection.

The way I see it the 2nd ammendment under this interpretation has been dead for 150 years or more.
Its a shame, I dont undertand the connection between the conservative parties and the Christian church, which is supposed to be about peace.

If any of you were true Christians you would be about preserving life at all costs and ending the proliferation of weapons designed to kill humans.

If we had to give up civil liberties to protect ourselves agianst "terrorists" than maybe we should give up some to protect us from ourselves.

"If we had to give up civil liberties to protect ourselves agianst "terrorists" than maybe we should give up some to protect us from ourselves."

I love the rationalization there.  NO, we should not give up ANY of our civil liberties for ANY reason.  It is blatantly disrepectful to anyone who has previously died to protect those civil liberties.  They were willing to die to protect them and you are willing to give them up to very very slightly reduce you're chance of dying.  It is people like you that make liberals look like spineless pussies.

Most people take the "right to bear arms" more seriously than the "right to have abortions amendment" to the constitution for some reason.
